Miller Homes has been given the go-ahead for a new phase within the Glan Llyn consortium, representing the housebuilder’s first development in Wales.
The development, to be known as Caerleon Grange, will comprise 222 new homes at the Glan Llyn project near Newport, including a mix of two to five-bedroom private homes and a selection of affordable properties, which will be a mix of one and two-bedroom homes.
Miller Homes’ parcel of land within the former Llanwern Steelworks site will reside in the eastern area of the project, neighbouring the proposed Celtic Business Park and within close proximity to Newport Retail Park.

As part of the planning agreement for its developments within Glan Llyn, St Modwen Homes, which was acquired by Miller Homes in 2025 for £215million, has committed an £8million investment in local education for the area via its Section 106 agreement.
The new scheme will also feature multiple areas of public open space, including children’s play areas, plus extensive parking for homeowners and visitors and energy-efficient measures implemented as part of the developer’s new homes offering.
Building work is set to begin imminently on the land, with the developer also releasing the first homes for sale, while a show home is expected to be opened in the winter.
