Prospect Homes is supporting commercial admin assistant Alice Harvey take a career step in beginning a Quantity Surveying degree at Liverpool John Moore’s University.
Her journey is an example of the company’s commitment to investing in its people, providing ongoing focus on nurturing skills and long‑term progression across the business.
26-year-old Harvey joined Prospect Homes (part of The Riverside Group Ltd) in 2024 after beginning her career in the interior design industry.
She said: “I did a bachelor’s degree in visual merchandising and a master’s in interior design, but once I started working in the industry, I realised it wasn’t quite what I’d imagined. I wanted to try something completely different, so I joined Prospect Homes.”
Since starting, Harvey has worked closely with head of commercial, Martin Opara, who soon recognised her potential.
She added: “After working alongside Martin, he could see I’d be well‑suited to Quantity Surveying. I’d been supporting him with tenders, onboarding subcontractors and tracking payments, so it felt like a natural next step and it’s great that I’m being supported by Prospect.”
Prospect Homes is committed to developing and supporting its people, regularly funding professional qualifications such as NVQ Level 7 Management Diplomas and construction NVQs at no cost to staff. The company also champions industry inclusivity through its involvement in the HBF’s Women into Home Building scheme. One of its female site management candidates is now a permanent employee. Prospect Homes has also joined the HBF’s Partner a College programme to help better align vocational education with industry needs, recently hosting students from Burnley College at its Burnley development.
