Hayfield has started construction on a new residential development in Campton, Bedfordshire, following the completion of a £10million land deal and a successful planning application.
The 12-acre site will deliver 66 zero carbon-ready homes, including 20 affordable homes, representing a total investment of £34million. This will be the fifth development in Central Bedfordshire for Hayfield and will be named Hayfield Way.
Harkmac, the Luton-based groundworker, is now on-site with groundworks underway as Hayfield begins transforming the site, which is allocated for residential development within the Central Bedfordshire Local Plan.

Homes at the development will feature solar PV panels, air source heat pumps, energy-efficient underfloor heating, electric vehicle charging points, 100% renewable energy and fibre optic broadband, which Hayfield says will ensure residents will benefit from some of the most energy-efficient new homes available in the UK.
Hayfield Way will follow Hayfield’s previous Bedfordshire schemes in Silsoe, Clifton and Clophill, as well as the Hayfield Gardens development in Toddington, which is close to being fully sold.
