Garden Sense completes first show garden for Charles Church

Leicestershire-based garden designer, Garden Sense, has completed the installation of its first show garden for housebuilder, Charles Church.

Garden Sense’s show garden was unveiled as part of the official opening weekend of The Lodge @ Sketchley Park, a new collection of 2-5 bedroom homes on the edge of the Leicestershire village of Burbage. Charles Church’s sales and senior management teams were joined by aspiring house hunters and suppliers, including Garden Sense’s director, Claire Hibbert.

Claire said: “Our original brief for the show garden was to include secluded sunken seating, an area for dining, and an outdoor kitchen. We achieved this by creating various ‘zones’ within the garden, which also enabled us to make the most of the outdoor space. We then added features to appeal to children, couples and families, ensuring room for different activities and hobbies, from grilling and entertaining to playing, gardening and relaxing. To see house hunters interact with these spaces and hear such amazing reactions at the launch was a wonderful occasion.”

Garden Sense’s design includes all the elements from Charles Church’s original brief alongside a child’s play swing and pergola. The firm’s signature porcelain paving and cladding make a sleek statement while finer details such as graphite decking, rumbled concrete edging and decorative lighting bring the whole design to life.

Nadine O’Dowd, director of sales & marketing at Charles Church, said: “The positive feedback we’ve received about our show garden has been incredible. Not only have our purchasers enjoyed discovering all the different areas but our whole team has been extremely complimentary, with some even visiting the development specifically to take a look! Garden Sense’s attention to detail, product knowledge and design flair has given us a show garden that really stands out. I look forward to our next creative collaboration together.”

The completion of the show garden also marks the start of a new partnership between Garden Sense and Charles Church. All purchasers at The Lodge will be given the option to upgrade their garden to one of three pre-designed packages. Garden Sense’s Silver, Gold & Platinum options each have a distinct layout and can be entirely customised with materials, features and lighting to allow purchasers to create a personalised garden.
