Vistry has completed contracts on two landmark sites in South Worcester and Bury St Edmunds, paving the way for the delivery of more than 3,500 new homes across the two locations.
In South Worcester, Vistry will deliver over 2,000 new homes as part of the Hopfields development, a mixed-use community already benefiting from outline planning consent. The scheme will include a local centre, up to 2,204 homes, with 20% designated as affordable housing. At least half of the homes are pre-sold in line with Vistry’s partnership-led delivery approach, with approximately 800 affordable homes and PRS properties and homes available for open market sale through Vistry’s retail housebuilding brands. Many homes will feature timber frames manufactured by Vistry Works.
In Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, Vistry has secured a 194-acre site to the northeast of the town, enabling the delivery of more than 1,300 new homes as part of one of the region’s largest sustainable urban extensions. The masterplan includes up to 1,375 homes, a new primary school, commercial space, a local centre and a country park. Of the new homes, a minimum of 30% are designated as affordable. The scheme already benefits from hybrid planning permission from West Suffolk District Council for 1,375 new homes alongside a number of community facilities, with 287 having secured reserved matters consent. The project will be delivered in phases over the next decade, representing a significant investment in the future of Bury St Edmunds and supporting the area’s economic growth.
