Sustainabuild Scotland Breakfast Club set to launch in 2024

Sustainabuild Scotland Breakfast Club will launch in 2024, providing a monthly networking event in Edinburgh for sustainability professionals from all areas of Scotland’s built environment and construction sector.

The club has been created to facilitate and expedite the sector’s transition to Net Zero and each month will have a different focus with expert speakers leading the conversation on key sustainability topics including green skills, sustainable construction methods, the role of renewables in the housing sector and much more.

The monthly meetups will allow those working on driving sustainability within their organisation to have a regular opportunity to learn from sector-leading sustainable businesses, share their knowledge with other attendees, and network with peers from across the sector.

The Breakfast Club starts on Wednesday 24th January from 9am to 11am at Patina in Edinburgh Park, with the first meeting themed around ‘tackling the shortage of green skills in the built environment sector’ and expert speakers soon to be confirmed.

Matt Colgan, director for Sustainabuild Scotland, commented: “This is a ‘make or break’ decade for Scotland’s built environment and construction sector on its transition to Net Zero. Great progress has been made to date and we are already leading the way in many areas – however there is a long way to go and it’s vital that every business keeps sustainability at the forefront of everything they do if the sector is to have any chance of meeting Scotland’s ambitious Net Zero targets.”

“Sustainabuild will bring Scotland’s key players together, to network and share learnings, build partnerships and most importantly – share best practice and find solutions to these challenges.”

The event will be hosted at Patina, an artisan bakery and restaurant with a dedicated event space at Edinburgh Park, and proud partner for the Sustainabuild Breakfast Club. Designed with sustainability in mind, Patina uses smart technology to control its energy usage, and is powered entirely by renewable energy sources, making it completely net zero and a perfect fit for this sustainability-focused event.
