Family-run housebuilder, Pennyfarthing Homes, has secured planning approval for a new collection of homes at Forde Valley, near Fordingbridge town centre. With plans to start development later this year, detailed planning approval has been granted for the first 74 homes at Sandle Park.
Sandle Park will form a new part of the Forde Valley neighbourhood, where Pennyfarthing Homes has already built a collection of residences at Whitsbury Green. The new Sandle Park homes will be interspersed with greenery, including over a kilometre of new paths, 1,700 new trees, a play area, informal open spaces and a 2.4ha alternative natural recreational greenspace, for the benefit of residents and the wider community.
Sandle Park is set to deliver a total of 342 homes, with 25% designated as affordable tenures – including shared ownership, affordable rent and First Homes. The first phase will comprise 74 properties, 18 of which will be affordable and 56 offered for private sale. Housing options will range from one to three-bedroom apartments to two and three-bedroom bungalows and two to four-bedroom houses.
Ben Arnold, land and planning director at Pennyfarthing Homes, commented: “We are delighted to have received overwhelming support from New Forest District Council’s Planning Committee for the first 74 homes at Sandle Park. Members of the planning committee praised the layout and appearance of the development, including the feature apartment building and the use of bungalows in the layout. The mix of properties will serve a range of homebuyers’ needs here in Fordingbridge, creating a diverse community with a deep sense of connection to nature, thanks to its abundance of green spaces. We look forward to commencing development work at Sandle Park later this year.”
Sandle Park will be within walking distance of Fordingbridge, which will provide buyers with a selection of pubs, cafes and independent shops nearby, while a range of schools are also within easy access.
