Tom Nightingale, David Wilson Homes
David Wilson Homes South Midlands has taken on Tom Nightingale as a planner from a role as a planning officer at a Local Planning Authority. Tom added: “I have certainly joined the company at an exciting time with a large number of developments currently underway and many more planned for the future.”
Multiple appointments, City & Country
Mark Fowler (pictured), formerly finance director, has been appointed managing director of award-winning heritage developer City & Country. The company has promoted Wayne Douglas to financial director, Simon Marner to land and property director, Jonathan Love to construction director (West) and Chris Farrow to construction director (East).
Kerry Strachan, Barratt Homes
Kerry Strachan has joined the sales team at the Barratt Homes’ Ellesmere Port development College Gardens, having previously worked for over ten years as a cabin crew member with Jet2 Airlines. “The industry is very new to me and I’m learning and developing a variety of new skills every day,” she said.
Lesley Samuel, Halliday Fraser Munro
Lesley Samuel joins architectural design and planning practice Halliday Fraser Munro as a landscape architect. She has over 20 years’ experience in private practices in Northern Ireland and Scotland. She said: “I’ll be working closely with colleagues to deliver masterplans which meet the aspirations of all stakeholders by looking at the complete picture.”
Calum Bruce, Urban Union
Calum Bruce has joined regeneration company Urban Union as project manager. He will be based at the head office in Glasgow and bringing with him almost 30 years of experience in the construction industry, most recently with Ogilvie. Neil McKay, managing director, Urban Union, said: “Calum will play a key role in Urban Union’s journey going forward.”
Sean Watson, CALA Homes
The Land and Planning team at CALA Homes Chiltern has been strengthened with the appointment of senior land manager, Sean Watson. He graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Economics and Business Management and has subsequently gained seven years’ experience in the land department at housebuilder Berkeley Homes.
Multiple appointments, Miller Homes
Miller Homes Yorkshire has welcomed new people to its production team. Harry Rayne, Thomas James and Jamie Hughes join the team as apprentice bricklayers and Matthew Law (pictured) is an apprentice joiner. Darren Bennett joins as a trainee assistant site manager, Ford Harrison and Paul Carmichael are new assistant site managers and Stuart Hall is now contracts manager.
Robert Williams, Beech Developments
Robert Williams is now a quantity surveyor at Beech Developments, based at the Llandudno Junction HQ. He said: “I’ve always looked on Beech Developments as a very progressive and forward-thinking developer. I’m excited to be a part of the business at a time when not only brand new developments are starting but the business is also moving forward at pace.”
Arthur Meadowcroft, Barratt Homes
Barratt Homes Northampton has promoted Arthur Meadowcroft to the role of part exchange manager. He joined the housebuilder’s Sales Graduate Programme in 2013 and subsequently has climbed the career ladder with roles as trainee, sales advisor and team leader. He said: “I do believe that the training that we offer is some of the best out there.”
Multiple appointments, CCG (Scotland)
CCG (Scotland) has welcomed 12 new employees this month including six trainees in the area of assistant site management. Office-based roles will be at the HQ in Cambuslang, while site and trainee assistant site managers will be based on live construction projects including those in Cambuslang, West Dunbartonshire and Edinburgh.
Two appointments, Caddick Group
Yorkshire-based Caddick Group has announced two new senior appointments who will join the Group’s development arms. Alistair Smith joins Caddick Developments as associate director, arriving from Town Centre Securities PLC; Charlie Adcock, previously of Summix Capital, has taken up the role of acquisitions manager at Moda Living.
Gareth Barton, Turley
Turley has promoted planner Gareth Barton to director in its Cardiff office. He has been involved in a number of high-profile projects for Turley across Wales and England, and on the promotion of a number of residential sites across South Wales, including leading the promotion of land at Raglan, Monmouthshire for new market and affordable homes.
Nigel Atkinson, WiredScore
Global real estate rating scheme WiredScore has appointed Nigel Atkinson as head of engineering for the UK. He has over 15 years’ experience in the TMT (technology, media, and telecom) sector. He joins from Node Technologies, where he was COO, and was project director for Lendlease for 13 years, managing the technology in property team.
