Churchill Retirement Living raised £14,355.69 last month through its special Warming Morning events at locations all over the country, benefiting a range of local charities chosen by its apartment owners.
During February the specialist retirement developer called on local communities to step in out of the cold and into the warmth of its Owners’ Lounges to enjoy hot drinks and indulgent snacks in return for a small donation to a local charity.
Events were held at 54 Churchill developments up and down the country from Cornwall to Formby, with 100% of the money raised going towards a range of local charities chosen by Owners.
Chantry Lodge in Andover achieved the biggest fundraising total with an impressive £930 towards The Countess of Brecknock Hospice, a specialist palliative care unit within Andover War Memorial Hospital. Churchill’s own charitable arm the Churchill Foundation will match-fund this amount, meaning the charity will receive a total of £1860.
Three other Lodges with the highest fundraising totals based on their number of apartments will also be matched by the Churchill Foundation, doubling the amounts raised for their respective charities:
- Beatrice Lodge in Sittingbourne – £860 for New Leaf Support
- Sachs Lodge in Torquay – £564 for the RNLI
- Peel Lodge in Marlow – £335 for Thames Valley Air Ambulance
