Casa by Moda, the single-family homes arm of developer and operator Moda Living, has completed the acquisition of a major site in Leeds to deliver its first rental home neighbourhood in the city.
The site, which has been acquired from sustainable housebuilder, Artisan Real Estate, is located in one of the city’s most desirable suburbs and will be Casa’s first operational neighbourhood in Yorkshire. It features 223 high-quality family homes for rent, ranging in size from one, two and three-bedroom modern apartments to two, three and four-bedroom houses.
The deal will see Casa take ownership of the 2.4-hectare development – Casa, Abbey Court – which will provide deposit-free, pet-friendly living as part of an industry-leading inclusive offer which places service, technology, well-being and sustainability at the forefront of the rental community.
Following the purchase, Casa will continue to work with Artisan to deliver the new homes. Moda’s technology partner, Utopi, will install smart environmental sensors in the homes, which enable residents to monitor everything from room temperature to air quality and light pollution. The homes will also feature air source heat pumps as part of Casa’s commitment to sustainable development and its journey to net zero.
Casa, Abbey Court, will see Casa by Moda continue to drive growth in the UK single-family rental (SFR) market. By creating neighbourhoods in suburban areas, SFR has been highlighted as a key solution to the UK’s housing crisis, by professionalising the private rented sector which has long been controlled by individual private landlords.
