Not-for-profit housing group, Orbit, is celebrating completing its 2,000th new home as part of its commitment to build and regenerate 7,000 homes by 2030.
It marks 2,000 new homes built since the launch of Orbit’s 2030 Strategy two years ago, through its development arm, Orbit Homes. Around 90% of the new homes delivered since the strategy’s launch are affordable homes, delivering much-needed new homes for social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership.
Orbit celebrated the milestone at Micklewell Park in Daventry, where it is delivering 475 new homes across social rent, affordable rent, shared ownership, market sale and self-build. The delivery of some of the affordable homes at Micklewell Park is supported by grant funding from Homes England.

Operating largely throughout the Midlands, East and South of England, Orbit is one of the largest builders of affordable homes in the UK, delivering around 1,000 new build homes per year.
All direct-build homes from Orbit meet the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents’ (RoSPA) Safer by Design Gold Standard and are built tenure blind, ensuring that all owners and tenants receive the same commitment to sector leading design, specification and safety, coupled with outstanding customer service.
