Plans to deliver Wales’ tallest building have taken a significant step forward with the scheme being granted planning permission.
REAP 3, a subsidiary of BtR specialist, BlueCastle Capital, have got the go-ahead for the 50-storey mixed-use tower, which will be built close to Cardiff Central Station and the Principality Stadium in the Welsh capital.
The developer initially had plans approved for a 35-storey scheme, with the updated scheme to include 528 flats, as well as a two-storey Pavilion which will provide commercial space. The tower would surpass the current tallest building in Wales, the 29-storey Meridian Tower in Swansea.
Located in the Central Square regeneration area of the city, the scheme has been designed to handle high footfall, due to the high volume of people in the area on matchdays.
BlueCastle currently has a development pipeline of around 2,500 units across five projects, with a number of BtR towers planned across several cities, and is currently working to bring its first set of schemes to construction.
