McCarthy and Stone goes live with Copronet to drive efficiencies

“Following the recent announcement by McCarthy and Stone that they are seeking to improve and enhance their process of procuring sub-contractors and specialists, Copronet told us that they have been selected to help McCarthy and Stone achieve greater efficiencies both for McCarthy and Stone (Southern) and also for members of the supply chain themselves.

Copronet is a new online platform specialising in procurement solutions, supply chain verification, project management and due diligence. At its heart, it has a sophisticated network function designed specifically for the construction industry.

As part of the trial, Copronet will be providing a free verification service for both existing and future members of the McCarthy and Stone supply chain.

David Stapleton, Co-Founder and CEO of Copronet, said: “Our vision for Copronet is to create a more collaborative construction industry with greater and clearer access to opportunities for contractors and access to specialists for clients. Our free verification process is a new feature that we have developed hand-in-hand with McCarthy and Stone to both remove some of the duplication and frustrations felt by contractors associated with repetitive form filling but also to make it clearer and easier to find the specialists that you want.

“Once verified, a contractor can showcase their expertise and qualifications to any and all potential new customers and clients. We strongly feel that the supply chain faces too many financial burdens and this is part of our ongoing drive to help them.”

The platform also offers a host of no/low cost features designed to benefit all users, whatever their role. McCarthy and Stone will be taking advantage of the inbuilt ability to manage its approved supply chain and also the ability to communicate company updates to its network via the activity feed.

Stapleton added they would shortly be releasing a Company Hub that would provide greater visibility and efficiencies within a company by enabling greater collaboration and communication with individual businesses. This release will also include significantly enhanced features within the Project Hub that would place the offer on a par with market leading project management tools.

Explaining why McCarthy and Stone had chosen Copronet, Shane Paull said that all of those involved in the construction industry were facing differing challenges and risks. Not only did he hope that Copronet would be able to drive efficiencies within McCarthy and Stone but he also thought that supply chain partners would benefit too.

He said: “Some of the tools that Copronet offer for free, such as its project management tool, can help contractors work more efficiently. And the free verification process helps us and, as importantly, helps our supply chain who already face so many indirect taxes just to be in business. The dynamically updated verification process reduces the burden on the supply chain by allowing them to demonstrate at a glance all of their qualifications and business critical information.  Solutions like Copronet, that put affordable technology in the hands of businesses of every size, and help us all to work more efficiently, are a win/win.”
