Taylor Wimpey East Anglia has announced that it has acquired a 12-acre site to deliver an 80-home development in Soham, Cambridgeshire.
Located off Brook Street, the housebuilder conducted a public consultation in March 2026, and its Reserved Matters application is currently under consideration by East Cambridgeshire District Council.
Subject to planning approval, the development will comprise a mix of one to five-bedroom homes, with 20% dedicated to affordable housing.
In addition to 80 energy-efficient homes in Soham, Taylor Wimpey East Anglia will also make a community contribution of around £2million to local education, library provision and infrastructure improvements.
If the plans are approved, groundworks are expected to begin in June 2027, with first homes estimated to go on sale at the end of 2027.
Tom Wheeler, Land Director at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: “We are pleased to announce our acquisition of the land just off Brook Street in Soham for a new 80-home development.”
“With our popular Lantern Croft development in Ely coming to an end, this site is a significant acquisition for Taylor Wimpey to continue their presence in Cambridgeshire. We now await the final planning decision, and if granted, we look forward to bringing this development forward to meet the demand for new-build homes in the area.”
