Redrow breaks awards win record

With 28 awards, WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year Redrow has broken its own previous record of wins in the at the NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards.

The housebuilder set the record in 2017 with 27 wins for its site managers across the country, and this year saw success from team members in Lancashire, the Midlands, the South East, South Wales, the West Country and Yorkshire. It’s a competitive and prestigious title, with winners a tiny proportion of some 16,000 site managers across the UK, judged for standards of leadership, technical expertise and attention to detail.

John Tutte, executive chairman at Redrow, commented: “It’s testament to the fantastic work and commitment from our team that we are able to pick up so many awards this year. I am proud of all of our award-winning site managers, including Daniel Cato from our North West region, who first joined us through our apprenticeship programme. I wish all of today’s winners the very best of luck for the next round in the autumn.”

One of the winners is Nick Smith (pictured), project site manager at Ebbsfleet Green in Kent. He said: “I’m thrilled to have my hard work recognised by the NHBC, especially while working on a scheme the scale of Ebbsfleet Green, where we are delivering 900 new homes alongside extensive community and commercial space. Every day is different with new challenges and you’re managing a huge team, who are absolutely integral to ensuring the site runs smoothly and that we deliver the outstanding homes Redrow is recognised for.”

In 2018, Redrow provided employees with over 7,000 training days, delivered by its Learning & Development team.

From this success in the first round of the competition, the winning site managers will be invited to attend the Regional Award ceremonies this autumn.
