Cala Homes has selected Vicaima door designs for its development close to Aberdeen.
Located just four miles from Aberdeen’s urban centre, Cala’s latest development at the ‘Grandhome’ scheme comprises a selection of family homes.
The homes will offer contemporary style for owners, and Cala selected Vicaima’s products to complement the modern aesthetic. Working in conjunction with trading partners, International Doors and Windows (IDAW), who are based locally in Aberdeen, a selection of Vicaima doors were provided for the development, including singles and pairs, together with both flush and glazed models, to work with Cala’s design vision.
The MD50, with its premium surface high-density fibreboard face, presents a ladder-like appearance and its design includes a distinctive arrangement of five textured central horizontal panels, flanked on either side with a vertical rail effect, making the door a feature for modern homes. One of six models from the Vicaima Embossed range, the MD50 is available in a wide selection of constructional cores, from hollow to FD30 Fire rated and can be supplied in a choice of primed for on-site treatment or pre-finished and edge banded.
Cala recently completed the site purchase for a fourth phase of the ongoing Grandhome development after receiving planning permission from Aberdeen City Council earlier in the year. The latest phase will see 76 new three, four and five-bedroom properties built, adding to the Grandhome Trust masterplan which will see 7,000 homes built alongside commercial space.
Cala’s Grandhome development is expected to be its most sustainable development in the North East to date, incorporating a number of sustainability measures such as gas-free homes, EV charging points at each property, rolling out an Urban Wildlife Strategy and lowering site-based operational emissions.
