Barratt Homes and David Wilson get planning permission for Worcestershire scheme

Barratt Homes West Midlands and David Wilson Homes Mercia have been granted planning permission for a brand-new housing development in Pinvin, near Pershore.

The proposed 180-home development, located off Upton Snodsbury Road, is set to become the latest Worcestershire community for the housebuilders, supported by planning consultants, Harris Lamb.

The plans will look to create a landscape-led, connected new community to meet the demand for new homes in Wychavon District, providing a mix of housing, including five bungalows, over 40% affordable homes and five self-build properties.

Helen Lewis, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “Being granted planning permission for a new development in Pinvin moves us closer to delivering more high-quality properties to meet the demand for new housing in Worcestershire.”

Adrian Evans, Managing Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: “The granting of planning permission for our proposed development in Pinvin marks a significant milestone in bringing forward a high-quality residential scheme that will make a valuable contribution to the local community and help meet the growing demand for new homes across Worcestershire.”

The development includes the provision of 65% green infrastructure, unlocking a large area of open space for both new and existing residents in Pinvin.

There are plans for over 10% biodiversity net gain to enhance the environment and its wildlife, and pedestrian and cycle access would be implemented to create an active, sociable new community.

Simon Hawley, Director of Harris Lamb Planning Consultancy, said: “We are delighted to have secured planning permission from Wychavon District Council to enable Barratt and David Wilson Homes to deliver much-needed quality houses in the region.”

“It has been a pleasure to work with the teams throughout the process and we look forward to seeing the scheme progress.”
