A new construction industry awards has launched to recognise the people behind Britain’s housebuilding sector. The Show House People Awards will culminate in a black-tie ceremony on 11 March 2027 at The Londoner, Leicester Square, bringing together house builders, contractors and suppliers from across the industry.
The housebuilding awards were founded in response to mounting concern over workforce retention in construction.
Construction needs 206,000 additional workers by 2030 just to meet projected demand, according to CITB’s Industry Picture 2026 report. “Not enough people are entering the industry, too many experienced workers are leaving, and productivity has not improved at a sufficient rate to plug the gap,” says Marcus Bennett, CITB’s Head of Industry Analysis & Forecasting, a trend the Awards aim to help address by placing recognition, rather than just recruitment, at the centre of the conversation.
Daniel Hill, founder of The Show House People Awards, said: “House building runs on its people, site managers, customer service teams, apprentices, the teams who sometimes get forgotten for what they do. We built this because recognition changes how people feel about staying in an industry, and right now, too many of them are leaving before anyone’s told them how much they matter.”
The Awards will celebrate individuals and teams across a range of categories, spanning leadership, apprenticeships and site-level contribution, with further detail on categories and judging to be announced in the coming weeks.
Why sponsor the Show House People Awards?
Every home built in this country depends on the people behind it, the site teams, customer service staff and everyone in between who keep a project moving. Sponsoring the Awards is a chance to stand behind that, publicly and unmistakably, at a moment when the industry badly needs its best employers to be seen doing so.
Why attend the housebuilding awards ceremony?
There aren’t many nights in this industry that are simply about celebrating the people in it. Booking a table means bringing a team somewhere they’ll be recognised for who they are and what they’ve given to the job. It’s a night out that means something, and a room full of people who understand exactly why that matters.
Why enter someone for a construction industry award?
Somewhere on every site and in every office, there’s someone who’s earned this, the apprentice who never misses a day, the site manager who holds a team together, the customer service team who never let a homeowner feel forgotten. For them, it could be the first time anyone’s said, in public, that they noticed.
