Barratt David Wilson Homes is delivering 1,003 homes across Kent, with developments in the Sittingbourne, Canterbury and Ramsgate areas. Each site will feature a range of homes, from sleek one and two-bedroom apartments to three and four-bedroom family homes, and all have been designed with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind.
Each home will be up to 57% cheaper to run than older homes and will feature energy-efficient boilers and high levels of insulation, as well as electric vehicle charging points.
The sites will also feature a number of green spaces and biodiversity areas, with walkways and cycle paths throughout. Bee-friendly planting, bird boxes and hedgehog highways will ensure that the developments are also wildlife friendly.
Saxon Fields in Thanington, on the outskirts of Canterbury, will provide 102 two and three-bedroom houses in its first phase, with residents expected to move in by the end of the year. The development forms part of a wider consortium scheme that will deliver onsite facilities including a primary school, sports pitches, community centre, care home and allotments.
Spitfire Green in Ramsgate will comprise 178 new one to four-bedroom homes, 53 of which will be affordable. The site will include 4.5 acres of dedicated green space and a network of foot and cycle paths to connect residents across the development, to Ramsgate and beyond.
