Churchill Living has appointed Grayham Tucker to the newly created role of group divisional operations director (Southern) to develop the Group’s presence across the South of England and achieve its growth plans.
Grayham joins Churchill’s Operations Board and will lead both its South West and South East Divisions, working closely with chairman and CEO, Spencer J McCarthy, to drive all aspects of the Group’s operational activity across the south.
Grayham brings a wealth of industry know-how, regional knowledge and leadership experience, having spent 25 years in the housebuilding sector. Following senior roles at a number of national developers, he was most recently group managing director at Cavanna Homes, which, like Churchill, is a five-star rated, family-run business based in the south.
This appointment comes during an important year for Churchill, as the company celebrates its 30th year in business in 2024 and recently opened its 200th development for the over 60s. In July, the company also unveiled a new identity – Churchill Living – dropping the word ‘Retirement’ from the name to demonstrate that its offering is all about ‘Living’, with a continued focus on providing specialist housing that offers choice, independence and peace of mind for the over 60s.
Commenting on his appointment, Grayham said: “I’m excited to be joining Churchill at a key time for the company, as we focus our sights on the huge potential to grow our presence across the South. Having already hit some impressive milestones in 2024, the Company is now looking to the future with a highly focused and disciplined approach, and a clear vision to meet the huge demand for better housing options for older people. I’m looking forward to playing a part in the Group’s continued success.”
Churchill’s chairman and CEO, Spencer J McCarthy, added: “I’m very pleased to welcome Grayham to the Churchill team and look forward to working with him to drive our growth plans for the South of England. Specialist housing like ours delivers huge benefits to people and communities, and plays a key role in getting the housing mix right as part of the government’s plans to deliver 1.5 million new homes over the next five years. We’re investing in new sites across the country to achieve our plans and in turn enable many older people to live happier, healthier, more independent lives. By doing this we can also create new jobs, regenerate local high streets, and deliver new communities that give an economic boost to towns and cities across the south and nationally.”
