We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Julia Brass, Allison Homes
Allison Homes has appointed Julia Brass to the new role of group head of marketing. She joins with over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. Her career began in advertising at agencies managing a range of small and large housebuilders and B2B clients, moving in 2018 to Avant Homes, where she became group marketing director.
Jo Allen, Northstone
Northstone has promoted Jo Allen to the role of partnerships director, having played a pivotal role in fostering partnerships with housing providers including Torus and Bolton At Home. She also holds the position of operations director for Letta, the suburban Build to Rent company set up by Peel L&P and Redwing, part of The Regenda Group.
Maggie Grogan, Muse
Muse, the development arm of Morgan Sindall, has promoted Maggie Grogan to regional managing director for the Midlands. She joined Muse in April 2020 and was promoted to development director in January 2022. She spent most of her early career with Carillion, rising to development manager, with later roles at Vita Group and DeTrafford.
Stuart Phillips, Persimmon Homes
Persimmon Homes West Wales has appointed a new managing director. Stuart Phillips has been promoted from his previous position as deputy managing director and during his 13 years with the company has worked in various roles, including as head of land and director of land and planning.
Katie Rogers, Mount Anvil
Mount Anvil has appointed Katie Rogers as chief financial officer. She brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, including 15 years in the sector, most recently an 11-year tenure as CFO of Telford Homes, with three years of that time spent also as its COO. Additionally, she is currently a non-executive director of Essex housing association CHP.
Martin Brazier, Spitfire Homes
Spitfire Homes has welcomed Martin Brazier as its new commercial director, joining from Taylor Wimpey and bringing more than 15 years of commercial experience with him. MD Ben Leather said: “Martin has a wealth of commercial experience in the sector and shares our passion and desire to build sustainable, high-quality homes fit for modern living.”
Two appointments, Octagon
The Octagon Group has announced the appointment of Alex Potter, with previous roles at Persimmon, Peabody and Hyde, as strategic land manager, and Joe Raimondo as land acquisition assistant, having worked in the property industry for almost 15 years, and then turning to IT recruitment.
James Flannery, The Sovini Group
The Sovini Group has appointed James Flannery as its new director of construction and land for Sovini Construction. He is a business owner himself as well as acquiring lead roads in regeneration and academia has also worked for Balfour Beatty plc, Tyson Construction and Thomas Armstrong during his 35-year career.
Charlie Ash, NHBC
NHBC has appointed Charlie Ash as sector lead for housing associations. Previously customer relationship executive, Ash will now manage relationships and partnerships with housing associations, their contractors and other sector stakeholders. She commented: “I’ll be growing this part of our business, promoting our great credentials and track record.”
Two appointments, Richborough Estates
Birmingham-based land promoter Richborough Estates has welcomed two new divisional planning managers. Ian Long, formerly senior land and planning consultant at Boyer Planning, has joined the Eastern division and Matt Dugdale, formerly associate director at Nexus Planning, has joined the western division.
Ed Crockett, Europa Capital
Europa Capital has appointed its first official head of residential investment UK & Europe. He comes with over 20 years’ experience in real estate markets, joining from Savills where he has spent the last 13 months as a director in the operational capital markets team. Prior to that, he spent 15 years in fund management at abdrn.
