Volume housebuilder, Weston Homes, has announced it will launch and develop an additional £315million of new residential schemes this year, providing almost 900 more new homes across London and the South East.
The developer also has two further London commuter projects at the planning application stage offering another 650 homes, adding in excess of 1,500 new homes to its pipeline.
The first of the five projects to launch this year is Tayfen Court in Bury St Edmunds, where the site of a former 1950s gasholder works will be transformed into a new £42million development providing 171 one and two-bedroom mixed-tenure apartments. This will be shortly followed by the launch of Brentwood Central in April, a five-storey residential development comprising 60 apartments.
Weston Homes will also deliver Town Quay, a waterside development in Barking in partnership with BeFirst London, the regeneration entity of Barking and Dagenham Council. The scheme’s 62 homes allocated for affordable rent or shared ownership will be delivered this month, with Weston Homes launching 85 apartments for sale in the summer. Weston will simultaneously launch Jasper Wharf, a landmark 29-storey tower within the Abbey Quay regeneration project in Barking, which will provide 167 apartments.
Another project starting by mid-2024 will be Bracknell Beeches, a £130million development of 349 one and two-bedroom apartments and 3,779 sq ft of flexible commercial space across seven new buildings, just minutes from Bracknell railway station.
In addition to the new schemes that are underway, Weston Homes has several additional pipeline projects currently at the planning application stage, including a major residential near Colchester which will deliver close to 600 homes.
