Story Homes has announced that it has submitted a full planning application to Dumfries & Galloway Council for a proposed new phase of development at its Summerpark site in Dumfries.
The plans propose the delivery of 108 new homes on land at Marchfield, building on the well-established community at Summerpark. The proposed homes include a mix of three to five-bedroom properties featuring internal layouts that offer open-plan living spaces and exterior details that create Story Homes’ signature unique street scenes.
Adam McNally, senior land and planning manager for Story Homes, said: “We’re proud of the community that has grown at Summerpark over the past 17 years, and we’re excited to have submitted these plans for consideration. If approved, this next phase – bringing 108 new homes – would allow us to continue supporting housing delivery in Dumfries.”

The scheme will deliver a range of community benefits, including a secure children’s play area, tree-lined streets and pedestrian links to the Marchfield Rounall and the wider public right of way network. In addition, new green areas of public open space will be delivered on-site which will be accessible to the local community, benefitting new and existing residents.
Story Homes says that it remains committed to investing in Dumfries & Galloway as a region and, if given the green light, this new phase would continue to create benefits for the local economy during the construction phase via direct and indirect employment opportunities through the sub-contractor and supply chains, as well as an increased demand for local businesses and services when the new homes are occupied.
First opened in 2008, Summerpark was Story Homes’ first Scottish development and remains the largest in Dumfries & Galloway. It is now home to more than 500 residents. It is anticipated that a decision on these plans will be received by Dumfries & Galloway Council by the end of the year.
