Persimmon Homes West Wales has launched a public consultation for its proposed zero carbon-ready development in Pontarddulais, Swansea.
The developer plans to construct 516 zero carbon-ready homes ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom houses. All the homes on the no-gas site will be powered by air-source heat pumps and solar panels. A number of the properties will also be transferred to a housing association partner.
As part of its extensive engagement with the local community, the developer is inviting the public to review and feedback on the plans before they are submitted to the local planning authority at two consultation events in October.
Persimmon also plans to deliver a new primary school, community building, and sustainable drainage infrastructure alongside financial contributions towards an all-weather 3G pitch at Pontarddulais Comprehensive School and public transport improvements in the vicinity as part of the scheme.
A network of green infrastructure and ecological enhancement is a core part of the vision for the development, while parks, play equipment, and playing pitches are inclusive of the public open space that Persimmon is offering.
