Persimmon has announced that Iain McPherson will join as its new UK MD in January 2025.
McPherson is currently Sage Homes’ chief operating officer and his 30+ years of industry experience includes roles as CEO of Countryside and managing director at Crest Nicholson. He will be working closely with a team of regional chairs to continue to drive ongoing quality and service improvements.
His appointment follows Paul Hurst’s retirement at the end of the year after 28 years at the company.
Dean Finch, group chief executive, said: “I am delighted that Iain is joining us in January as our new UK MD following Paul Hurst’s retirement. Iain has significant breadth and depth of experience, including as CEO of Countryside and will complement our existing senior management team. I look forward to working with him in the coming years to continue driving our growth plans and quality and customer service improvements.
“I would also like to pay tribute to Paul Hurst who retires following 28 years of extraordinary service to Persimmon. Paul retires with the warmest wishes of colleagues and many friends within the business and I am personally grateful for his great support to me during my time at Persimmon.”
Of his appointment, Iain McPherson commented: “I am delighted to be joining Persimmon in January and working alongside the strong team already in place. In my current role I have worked directly with Persimmon and have seen the progress they have made in recent years first hand. I look forward to working with colleagues to maintain and build on this progress.”
Persimmon also recently announced two promotions to regional managing director. Anthony Mansfield has been appointed to its Scotland and North West division while remaining MD for Persimmon Lancashire. Neil Williams has been appointed to Central and West Midlands division while continuing to oversee Persimmon Central.
