We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Natalie Haigh, Crest Nicholson
Crest Nicholson has announced the appointment of Natalie Haigh as head of sales and marketing for its new Yorkshire division. She has worked for Crest Nicholson since February 2020 and was previously a sales manager then senior manager. Her 15 years of property industry experience include nine in the new homes sector.
Mark Whittaker, Lovell Partnerships
Lovell Partnerships North East has appointed a new head of construction. Mark Whittaker brings with him over 25 years of experience to the role, including time at four housebuilders. Starting his career as a joiner, he progressed through the ranks as assistant site manager to project management, before becoming head of construction.
Two appointments, Birchgrove
Birchgrove has appointed a new chief operations officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO). Marcus Hodges is COO and joins with over 20 years’ commercial and operational management experience in co-living, BTR and student accommodation. New CFO Raphaël Koifman has had roles at Cheyne Capital, Santander, Barclays Capital and others.
Three appointments, Astir
Astir has announced three appointments: Percy Mullany as land director, following extensive senior experience and Berkeley Group and Cpountryside, and John Lahiff and Chris Chapman are both senior land manager. Alan Shad, Partner, Astir, said: “Both John and Chris bring an excellent network of personal relationships across the industry.”
Stephen Tipper, Fisher & Paykel
Fisher & Paykel has appointed Stephen Tipper as its newest builder developer manager in the UK, specifically targeting the luxury development market. With a background in the sustainable heat and power industry, his previous roles include eight years at Terence Ball Kitchens, where he was promoted to director and head of design.
Jutta Langer, Duravit
Jutta Langer has joined Duravit AG in the role of president Europe Plus, responsible for the markets in Europe and Africa. She has a track record of more than 20 years in companies such as Procter & Gamble and L’Oréal as well as management experience at the Werhahn Group, and most recently as global vice president consulting for GfK.
James Matthews, Baxi
Baxi has appointed James Matthews as the new head of public health. Previous roles within the construction industry lead to his most recent role as business development director at Polypipe. He said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Baxi, given the increasing focus on decarbonising heating and hot water in buildings.”
Two appointments, Osprey Housing
Osprey Housing has appointed two new ‘apprentice’ board members. Lauren Allan is an assistant technical co-ordinator with Barratt Developments, and University of Aberdeen law graduate Niamh Johnston, is a member of Brodies’ Aberdeen banking and finance team and recently qualified solicitor.
Mat Shenton, Rapleys
Rapleys has launched a New Homes team under the Rapleys Living part of the business, which will be led by Mat Shenton, who has over 15 years’ experience in new homes sales across London and the South East. He joins from JLL where he was a director in the Residential Development team for four-and-a-half years, after seven years at Savills.
Two appointments, VervLife
VervLife has made two senior appointments. With 20 years’ experience, Neelam Saihjpal has been appointed director of operations, joining from Centrick, where she was director of Build to Rent. Katie Talbot arrives as brand and marketing lead, with 12 years’ experience in private residential marketing, previously at Fresh Student Living.
Mike Millest, MGAC
Mike Millest has joined MGAC as a critical environments director, responsible for leading project management teams for large scale international developments. He has three decades of industry experience including 15 years dedicated to project management. He said: “I have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working on complex projects.”
