Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people in later life, has reached completion at five new developments across the country.
The completions bring the total number of new homes delivered by Anchor over the last six months to 554 across eight sites, marking a significant step as it continues to progress on its target to build 5,700 new homes over ten years.
As part of its commitment to well-being in later life, the developments will all offer Anchor’s Be Well 360 service which supports residents to live a healthy, active and connected lifestyle, as well as providing various communal spaces for residents to meet or relax across a variety of locations in South England.
Forming part of the wider St Andrew Park regeneration of the former RAF Uxbridge base, Atlas Lodge will provide 72 one and two-bedroom apartments for people over the age of 60 within a vibrant community with direct access to central London. The development also features a beauty salon, café, and landscaped gardens with a seated patio area.
The Chapters in Berkshire comprises 80 apartments and will welcome residents this summer. The site is well connected to Shinfield, Reading and Wokingham, with a country park and a new community centre located nearby.
Anchor has also completed the final phase at The Dials, offering 57 affordable one and two-bedroom apartments for over 55s. The Leicestershire development, which marks the third handover of four initial developments in partnership with McCarthy Stone, was built with funding support from Homes England and will deliver a mix of rented and shared ownership apartments.
In Hampshire, another development in partnership with McCarthy Stone, The Signals in Hook, will provide 75 high-quality apartments, as well as an on-site hair salon, bistro and landscaped gardens.
Practical completion was also recently marked at Anchor’s Pemberley Place in Bath, where residents of the 72 contemporary apartments can enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside while having easy access to the World Heritage City of Bath. Featuring various communal spaces including landscaped gardens and a café, the development has already proved to be popular with people over 55 looking to relocate within the same local community.
