We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Two appointments, Richborough
Richborough has promoted Charlotte Lewis and Dean Knight to the positions of group design director and group technical director. Paul Campbell, chief executive at Richborough, said: “Huge congratulations to Charlotte and Dean on their promotions. They have played a huge part in the success Richborough has enjoyed so far.”
Andrew Wallis, Apo Group
Apo Group has announced that Andrew Wallis has joined the company as commercial director. Qualified as both a solicitor and chartered accountant in his native New Zealand, his previous role was at international private members’ social club Soho House & Co, where he was global finance controller.
Jason Knight, Newland Homes
Jason Knight has joined Newland Homes as contracts manager. Previously construction manager for Bellway in the South West, he has an extensive background in residential construction. He commented: “This is my forever job and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the projects.”
Tom Roberts, Miller Homes
Miller Homes has appointed Tom Roberts to the role of regional operations director to head up the region from its Derby offices. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having initially joined the company in August 2004 as a graduate land buyer. He most recently held the position of area land director in the East and South Midlands.
Neil Ballett, Avant Homes
Avant Homes East Midlands has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of a land director. Neil Ballett, who joins from Taylor Wimpey, has 29 years’ experience in the housebuilding industry. He commented: “I am excited for a new challenge to support the business in achieving its aspirations.”
Emma Jenrick, Castle Green Homes
Castle Green Homes has welcomed Emma Jenrick as partnerships manager, based at Preston Brook, working alongside partnerships director Eoin O’Donnell. She said: “Given Castle Green’s strong reputation within the industry, I felt this was a great opportunity for me to join a successful and expanding business.”
Ray Winney. Orbit Homes
Orbit Homes has appointed Ray Winney as its new regional managing director for the East, taking up the position after four years as construction director. He brings with him over 20 years of experience in the construction and housebuilding sector. Helen Moore, group director at Orbit Homes, has hailed him as “a real asset to the team”.
Multiple appointments, Lovell Partnerships
There are several senior appointments and promotions at Lovell Partnerships in the East Midlands. Beth Bundonis has been made regional MD and Lewis Charity has been promoted to land and technical director, while new hires are commercial manager Dan Buller, refurbishment manager James Phillips and sales and marketing manager Mark Blake.
Debbie Taylor, Rangeford Villages
Rangeford Villages has appointment of Debbie Taylor as head of people. She previously worked for Kingerlee Construction LTD in a similar role, where she was responsible for more than 100 staff members. She has been in the HR profession for 13 years, and attained a Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management.
David Hagan, Redcliffe Homes
Redcliffe Homes has brought in David Hagan to the role of development planner, bringing with him over 15 years’ private sector experience, working predominantly on residential schemes. He holds a degree in Town and Country Planning from the University of Manchester and is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Martin Smith, Muir Group
Martin Smith has joined Muir Group as CEO. His previous role was at ISG, where he was director of operations for major projects. He has previously been area director for Miller Construction, regional MD for Robertson Group and divisional director at Interserve Construction (now Tilbury Douglas). He also has a masters’ degree in law (LLM).
John Burke, Mulberry Homes
Mulberry Homes has welcomed a new finance director, John Burke. The 37-year-old has joined with a wealth of experience in the construction sector. He studied to become a Chartered Management Accountant and spent eight years at Veolia Environmental Services in various finance roles, moving to Taylor Wimpey in 2014.
Ashley James, Avant Homes
Avant Homes West Midlands has appointed Ashley James as land director. He joins from the northern division of St Modwen Homes, where he was also land director, and has 30 years’ housebuilding industry experience. He said: “I am excited to have been given the mandate to expand our operational footprint throughout the West Midlands.”
Jo Green, Cortland
Cortland has announced the appointment of Jo Green as head of business development for the company’s UK team. She joins from Home Made, where she headed up the business development function, and has also led new business functions for several organisations across the property sector.
Hannah Badger, CBRE
CBRE has appointed Hannah Badger as a director in its residential capital markets and investment properties team in Birmingham. She has joined from Knight Frank, where she specialised in trading income producing residential blocks and portfolios across the UK, before moving to the Build to Rent funding team.
Three appointments, ARAD
ARAD (The Association of Rooftop & Airspace Development) has made a trio of appointments to its leadership committee: Max Titchmarsh, founder of MAX Architects; Sean Hanlon, director, founder & engineer at SPH Structures; and Simon Kenneally, partner at Buckles Solicitors. They join founding members Click Above, Fruition Properties and Upspace.
Henry O’Neill, Chestertons
Chestertons has announced Henry O’Neill, former New Homes director at Dexters, joining the agency’s North and East London New Homes team. He started as sales negotiator for the New Homes and Investments division at Foxtons before, prior to joining Dexters, roles at Mount Anvil and Ballymore.
Bruce Robertson, Atelier
Atelier has appointed Bruce Robertson as lending manager for Scotland. He has more than three decades of property finance experience, including roles at Bank of Scotland and within Lloyds Banking Group, and will work with developers building in the residential, student and care sectors.
