Ideal Heating’s roots can be traced back as far as 1906, when the company was founded in Hull as The National Radiator Company.
In the 1920s, the company took boilers from basements and into kitchens with its pioneering Cookanheat – a freestanding stove that combined an open fire, central heating boiler, cooking oven and hot cupboard all in one unit.
Fast forward to 1934, and the company changed its name to Ideal Boilers & Radiator Co.
Over the next six decades, Ideal established itself as a market leader with award-winning models which remained synonymous with quality, reliability and engineering excellence.
A major manufacturing milestone was reached in 2005, when Ideal’s one millionth boiler rolled off the production line. Today, the business is Ideal Heating, reflecting the drive towards alternative, low carbon heating solutions.
Ideal Heating is currently undergoing a major £60million transformation of its HQ in Hull, spanning research and development, production and distribution – all focused on renewable technologies including heat pumps.
The business has also invested millions in two industry-leading training centres, in East Yorkshire and Dunstable near Luton, equipping thousands of installers every year with the skills and expertise to fit, maintain and service heat pumps.
