The Hill Group has handed over eight modular SoloHaus homes to Gravesham Borough Council, helping to support vulnerable residents in the borough.
The homes will provide safe accommodation for individuals who have experienced homelessness, offering stability, privacy and security to help them begin rebuilding their lives.
The donation continues the partnership between Hill and Gravesham Borough Council, with both organisations working together through Gravesham Community Investment Partnership to deliver positive change across the borough.
Established as a joint venture, the partnership is focused on bringing forward regeneration, new affordable homes and investment in local communities. Through the renewal of brownfield land, suburban development and estate regeneration, it is committed to delivering much-needed housing across a range of tenures, including homes for those on the housing register.
Each SoloHaus home arrives fully furnished and ready for occupation, providing an independent living environment designed specifically for single residents. Built to Future Homes Standards, the homes exceed current building regulations for energy efficiency and sound insulation, and come with a 60-year lifespan.
The donation forms part of Foundation 200, Hill’s £15million commitment to design, manufacture and gift 200 modular homes to councils and organisations across the country working to tackle homelessness.
The handover was marked by a ceremony attended by senior representatives from both organisations, alongside local dignitaries and stakeholders from across Gravesham. Harvey Dhami, regional director at The Hill Group, addressed attendees, highlighting the difference SoloHaus homes have already made in communities across the country and the importance of continued collaboration in addressing homelessness.
