Allison Homes appoints new group MD

Jon Cook, former chief executive of Places for People, has been named as the new group managing director for Allison Homes.

Cook brings with him 40 years of experience in the housebuilding industry, including roles as managing director at Crest Nicholson and commercial and technical director for Cala Homes.

His role at Allison Homes will see Cook take charge of the developer’s operational and commercial activities, with a focus on Allison Homes’ ambition to double in size over the next three years. He will also manage its existing South West, Central/East and East Midlands regions, which the group says are key to its growth plans. The housebuilder said that it intends to start work on its first three sites in its East Midlands division in 2025, also announcing a number of land acquisitions in the region, while laying out plans to establish new regions in the near future.

Jon Cook said: “It’s the Allison growth trajectory that excites me the most. This is an exciting company, buzzing with ambition and smart people.”

“What I really like is the culture that chief executive John Anderson is creating – supportive, but direct; aligning the whole team behind a clear vision and a sense of difference. The objectives are clear and we have a great landbank in place. I look forward to being a part of the team.”

John Anderson, group CEO, commented: “We are fortunate to have secured Jon’s services. He has a strong track record of success and a clear management style that focuses on creating strong teams that can seize opportunities and solve problems together.”

“With the full backing of our principal investor, we have a clear growth strategy in place, and Jon’s experience will be vital to helping us deliver this. His vast experience across the industry will take us to the next level of operational excellence.”
