Tobermore launches new hard landscaping support service

Construction manufacturer, Tobermore, has launched Create & Construct, an innovative hard landscaping support hub to support housebuilders and developers.

The service is designed to give design and construction teams access to a comprehensive range of tools, services, resources and advice at every stage of their project.

Krisa Montgomery, housebuilding team leader at Tobermore, said: “We know housebuilders are under pressure to deliver high-quality homes at pace. As a result, project teams value being able to access the support for hard landscaping schemes quickly, whatever the stage of their project.”

“Create & Construct addresses this by giving housebuilders instant access to a suite of free online tools and resources that help make it easier to design, specify, build and maintain hard landscaping projects.”

“To support these online tools, our design and technical teams, alongside our civil engineering partners, are available to provide tailored guidance to help address the unique challenges of every project.”

Create & Construct is free to use and combines 20 different services to support housebuilders’ project teams as they take hard landscaping and walling projects from the early concept, planning, design and specification stages through to tender, construction and maintenance.

Create helps designers and specifiers shape ideas, specify the correct products, and design sustainably. Construct includes services to ensure construction and installation are correct, help solve technical challenges and answer maintenance and care questions for the finished project.

Services include Tobermore’s product design assets, which allow designers to select and download everything from seamless swatches and spec sheets to EPDs for multiple products at once. There are online tools to create mood boards, visuals and concepts.

Housebuilders’ design and construction teams also have access to Tobermore’s 2D and 3D design services to support the design, planning and tendering process. The 2D service takes the design team’s plans and translates them into polished, project-ready drawings. The 3D design service enables specifiers to walk through project-specific CGI visuals that showcase the textures, patterns, and surfaces that define the design.

They can also arrange a Virtual Sample Studio session, which allows them to view samples and speak with Tobermore’s team via video call. Housebuilders can even request a sample wall so they can see the form and function of facing brick walls on site.

Comprehensive technical support includes fully indemnified permeable paving design and sub-base specification for block, slab and permeable paving. There is also a suite of services to support the successful construction of retaining walls, including design, materials and labour costing, as well as support for simplifying value engineering of hard landscaping projects.

Krisa added: “With tight lead times and constrained budgets, finding suitable, approved product alternatives can be extremely time-consuming. That’s why we’ve included free Value Engineering (VE) support in the Construct phase of Create & Construct to help housebuilders save time and money without compromising on quality.”

To simplify installation, construction teams can access a comprehensive range of ready-to-use laying patterns for block, slab and permeable paving that enhance visual interest. There are layouts suitable for every application, from residential streetscapes to community spaces.

There’s also a download section which includes specification sheets, environmental data and product performance information, as well as guidance on installation and maintenance.
