JV North, a consortium of housing associations and local authorities, has launched a social housebuilding framework worth nearly half a billion pounds which will run for four years.
The successful contractors and consultants will have the opportunity to secure contracts from the 15 JV North members, which will look to build over 3,000 between 2025 and 2029.
The framework will welcome applications from construction companies of all sizes, with lots ranging from up to £4million, £4million to £12million and £12million and over.
Consultant lots are open for a range of sectors including architectural services, employers agents, purchaser agents, engineers and principal designers, while principal designers for building regulations are also being sought for the first time too.
JV North is expecting 10 contractors per lot to be appointed but is prioritising flexibility to ensure that there is capacity to deliver the homes being built by members of the consortium.
Saffer Cooper Consultancy will handle the procurement of the framework on behalf of JV North and also run the development programme.
Director Sean Stafford said: “The new government’s long-term vision to address the housing crisis is shared by JV North and this joint ambition to build more homes can be seen in the launch of the new framework.”

The framework will start on 4 December with a virtual engagement session for contractors followed a day later on 5 December for consultants. The Invitation to Tender for contractors will start on 13 January with a separate Invitation to Tender for consultants the following week.
The deadline for submissions is set for the 3 March and successful bidders will be announced on 19 May before the framework begins on 2 August.
