The Hill Group has announced the appointment of John Fitzgerald as managing director for its Eastern Residential and Western regions, as the company continues the next phase of its ambitious five-year growth strategy.
Fitzgerald brings with him more than 35 years of experience across construction and residential development. At the age of 16, he began his career with Willmott Dixon Construction before moving into its housing business, where he worked alongside Hill’s founder and chief executive Andy Hill, who also began his early career in that organisation.
Fitzgerald later joined Furlong Homes before spending more than two decades at Telford Homes, where he became the group managing director.
His new appointment will play a key role in delivering Hill’s 2025–2030 strategic business plan, creating additional leadership capacity across two of its largest regions as the company works towards its ambition of doubling annual turnover to £2.3bn by 2030.
In his new role, Fitzgerald will provide strategic leadership and support the regional teams to deliver high-quality developments while creating the structure and capacity needed for continued growth. Working closely with colleagues across construction, development, technical, commercial and sales teams, his focus will be on strengthening operational performance.
Developments in Hill’s Eastern Residential and Western regions include Marleigh Park in Cambridge, Little Chalfont Park in Buckinghamshire, Canalside Quarter in Oxford, Whalebones Park in Barnet and Sawyers Close in Windsor.
