Steve Blight had died at the age of 61, after a lifetime dedicated to his beloved family and the running of BPC Group, the property business he founded in 1996.
Over almost 30 years as managing director, Steve, known affectionally as Blighty to his friends and family, expanded BPC Group into a highly respected brand name in the new homes and land buying sectors within the property industry.
Born in March 1964 and educated at Broxbourne School, Steve Blight entered the property industry working for Adam Kennedy in Enfield before going on to establish BPC Group with a vision of the group becoming a leader in the housebuilding industry.
Over time the business expanded, offering a comprehensive range of services to housebuilders including land buying, new homes sales, recruitment and digital marketing. BPC Group gained a prestigious portfolio of clients including Berkeley Homes, Weston Homes, Crest Nicholson, St James, Taylor Wimpey and Fairview New Homes. Many clients felt that Blighty and his team were an integral and almost ‘in-house’ part of their business.
In 2021 the group celebrated 25 years of trading, and it was a matter of deep pride for Steve that his son Harry Blight joined the business and worked for the group as a land manager.
An impressive character who was full of fun and life, Blighty enjoyed golf, holidays with family and friends, and running charity and property industry networking events. He was also passionate about developing young talent in the property industry.
Steve is survived by his wife Emma, son Harry Blight, stepchildren Daisy, George and James, and grandchildren.
