Hampshire-based housebuilder, Pennyfarthing Homes, has submitted detailed plans for the next phase of its Sandle Park development in Fordingbridge. The reserved matters application follows the approval of the first phase of 74 homes, which was approved in May 2025, and where construction is due to start on-site imminently.
This next phase proposes 100 new homes, with 25% being affordable properties through Affordable Rent, Shared Ownership, and the First Homes scheme, offering vital opportunities for local first-time buyers and families to own a home in the community. A feature of this phase is the inclusion of 35 single-storey bungalows, catering to downsizers and those seeking adaptable, accessible living. The overall mix will include one to four-bedroom homes, carefully designed to meet a wide range of household needs.
Green space and community well-being are central to the development. Residents will benefit from extensive landscaping, including a large play area, informal open spaces and the integration of existing footpaths connecting to the surrounding countryside. Pennyfarthing says the features are designed to encourage active lifestyles, create a welcoming environment and support a strong sense of community.
In addition to the homes, the layout for this phase incorporates sustainable drainage and EV charging infrastructure, aligning with Pennyfarthing’s wider commitment to building greener, future-ready communities.

Sandle Park is part of the wider Forde Valley area, which also includes Whitsbury Green, another Pennyfarthing Homes development that is now almost fully sold. Local amenities, including schools, independent shops, cafes and an art deco cinema are in close proximity, residents will benefit from the surrounding footpaths, cycle routes and open spaces that support outdoor activity and well-being.
With planning for the first phase already secured and access from Whitsbury Road agreed, Pennyfarthing says that the next phase of Sandle Park continues its commitment to delivering sustainable homes that provide generous green spaces and a strong sense of place.
