We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Darren Jones, Allison Homes
Allison Homes has appointed Darren Jones as its chief operating officer. He has enjoyed a long and successful career in the housebuilding industry, starting out as an apprentice carpenter and joiner in 1985. He has held roles at Bryant Homes, Gleeson Homes, Miller Homes and Persimmon Homes.
Christine Rostock, Stephens + Stephens
Stephens + Stephens has announced the appointment of Christine Rostock as its new customer care manager. Her career spans a variety of industries from hospitality, aviation, estate & grounds maintenance, business admin and marine design, with extensive experience in leadership, people management, stakeholder management, and sales & marketing.
Phil Jones, Lovell Partnerships
Lovell Partnerships has appointed a new head of land and partnerships for its North East region. Phil Jones brings a wealth of experience in planning and land acquisitions, as well as broader development work to the role. His 25-year career has involved a wide range of roles for private and public sector organisations including Homes England and Thirteen Group.
Two appointments, Hayfield
Hayfield has appointed a highly experienced technical director, Darren Farmer, who joins with more than 37 years’ experience in the construction and housebuilding industry. The new technical manager, James Conway-Morrison, has enjoyed more than 15 years as an architectural technologist.
Mark Parker, Persimmon Homes
A new managing director has been appointed to head up Persimmon Homes’ operations in South Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Mark Parker brings more than 40 years of experience in the housebuilding industry spanning a range of well-known industry names. He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Persimmon.”
Tom Paul, Southern Housing
Tom Paul has been appointed to the role of designate executive director of strategy & change at the new Southern Housing, which will be formed in the coming months from the merger of Southern Housing Group and Optivo. He brings with him almost two decades of experience in politics, consultancy, and the housing association sector.
Sophie Barton, Savills
Savills has promoted Sophie Barton, an associate director in its Wandsworth sales team, to take on the role of head of sales and oversee its multi-disciplinary East Sheen office. She steps into her new position with around eight years’ experience in the industry and with an intricate knowledge of the area and its sales market.
Sebastian Verity, Chestertons
Chestertons has appointed Sebastian Verity, a senior member of both Savills’ and Knight Frank’s research teams, to take over as its new head of research. During his five years at Knight Frank he pioneered new analytical techniques across the Residential Development, Senior Living, Student Accommodation and Build to Rent markets.
Lottie Crossley, Antler Agency
Southampton-headquartered Antler Agency has opened an office in central Birmingham and recruited Lottie Crossley as managing director of a newly created national public relations division, for housebuilders, developers, contractors, and property consultants. Her previous role was with Hayfield and its sister business Living Space Housing and Terra Strategic.
Pamela Chesterman, Irwin Mitchell
Irwin Mitchell is expanding its Planning and Environment team with the recruitment of Pamela Chesterman as a new partner. She joins from Brabners where she was legal director and head of planning, and prior to that was Head of Planning at Prosperity Law. She has considerable experience in advising on housing and commercial led development.
Saul Shah, Addington Capital
Addington Capital has recruited Saul Shah as an investment real estate analyst focusing on residential acquisitions. He joins from EY Real Estate where he was a corporate finance analyst. He has experience in commercial and residential real estate platforms and has also helped in the PBSA/Build to Rent business development stream.
Jo-Anne Dunning, Hyperoptic
To continue to grow its presence in new build homes market, Hyperoptic has appointed Jo-Anne Dunning as business development director. She joins from BT, where she led new business for FTTP, and brings more than 15 years of experience. Dunning said: “We’re going to continue to focus on great relationships, reliable service, and innovations.”
Sheliza Jafferali, ARK
ARK has appointed Sheliza Jafferali as general manager for its debut community-centric rental development in Wembley Park, which has now opened to the public. She has a strong background in hospitality and has previously managed a co-living property in Dublin, UK student accommodation, and hotels in Manchester.
Alan Evans, Homes England
Having left Wirral Council earlier this year after more than 18 years at the authority, Alan Evans has been appointed as lead for strategic place investigation at Homes England. The final four years of his Wirral stint were spent as director of regeneration and place, helping lay the foundations for the £1billion regeneration of Birkenhead.
