We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
James MacKay, Persimmon
Persimmon has promoted James MacKay to managing director after six months working as director-in-charge in North Scotland. Aged 32 and having worked for the company for ten years, he will lead the team of 120 overseeing new and existing developments across Aberdeenshire, Angus, Fife, Perth & Kinross, North Lanarkshire and Moray.
James Smith, Peveril Homes
Peveril Homes has announced the appointment of James Smith as its new managing director. Having graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1997 with a degree in Urban Estate Surveying, he started his career at Peveril Homes 23 years ago as assistant land buyer, and was most recently in the role of land director.
Ken Mulpeter, Hayfield
Hayfield has appointed Ken Mulpeter as production director to lead the delivery of £215million of construction activity. He joins from Avant Homes (Midlands) and prior to that was head of construction (Midlands and North) for St. Modwen Homes. He has also previously worked for Accord Group as head of construction – in all, some 25 years’ industry experience.
Liz Wilson, Orbit Homes
Orbit Homes has appointed Liz Wilson to the newly created role of head of design and specification, fairly unique in the sector, aiming to firmly put the customer at the heart of the company’s new home designs. She joins after over ten years at City & Country where she headed up the interior design team.
Three appointments, ERE Property
Property investment company ERE Property has made three new appointments to its lettings division. Gaby Madronero has been appointed as senior property manager, while Prudence Wright and Sian Hawkins have joined the firm as property managers. Chris Stone, lettings director of ERE Property, commented: “We are committed to providing the highest levels of service possible.”
Daniel MacGowan, Countryside
Countryside has appointed Daniel McGowan as CEO of its newly created Midlands division in its Partnerships business. He joins with more than 25 years’ experience in housebuilding across the South West, Midlands and the North of England. Most recently he was Taylor Wimpey’s Northern divisional chair.
Brad Critcher, Wavensmere Homes
Midlands-based Wavensmere Homes has been named Brad Critcher in the newly created role of director of development. He brings more than 30 years’ development experience gained across various sectors including retail, leisure, strategic land/residential and mixed use, having held senior development positions at Sainsbury’s and Castlemore.
Chris Pullen, idverde
Grounds maintenance and landscape creation specialists idverde has announced that Doug Graham will step down as CEO of the UK company and be succeeded by Chris Pullen. He started his career as an army officer in the Coldstream Guards and joins with a wealth of experience including at Staffline Plc, where he was CEO, and as global managing director for IWG Plc.
Lydia Firminger, CallisonRTKL
CallisonRTKL (CRTKL), the global architecture, planning and design practice, has appointed multi award-winning architect Lydia Firminger as associate principal. Joining from Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), she brings over 17 years of expertise in the design and delivery of prestigious residential and mixed-use projects in both central London and Europe.
Harry Martin, Yourkeys
Home sales platform Yourkeys has announced that Harry Martin has joined as its new sales manager. He was previously at proptech firm Houzz. He said: “I was drawn to Yourkeys because I relish the start-up environment. Yourkeys has achieved huge success in a short time and I’m privileged to be able to help the company continue along this path.”
