Steve Bangs, Anthology
Steve Bangs has been promoted from chief operating officer to managing director by London developer Anthology. With over 30 years in construction, he joined the company in 2014, with previous managing director roles for Linden Homes and Berkeley Homes. He takes over the new role from Mark Dickinson, who remains as non-executive chairman.
Jim Wilkinson, Persimmon Homes
With his highly regarded standard of work, Persimmon Homes Midlands has promoted Jim Wilkinson from site manager to project manager at Scholar’s Green, a £100m development on the former University of Northampton site. Joining the company nearly four years ago, he has been working at the nearly completed Lime Tree Gardens in Kingsthorpe.
David Carmichael, Lovell
Lovell has a new land director for the North West, North Wales and Scotland. David Carmichael has joined from Keepmoat, where he was group land and partnerships director, and has previously held the role of land and development director for Gleeson Regeneration and Homes. “He brings an outstanding industry record,” said Lovell managing director Steve Coleby.
Two appointments, Britcon
The pre-construction team at Britcon has seen a promotion and new appointment at its office in Wakefield. Matt Harker joined last year as contracts manager and is now regional manager for Yorkshire. Jen Ashworth is a qualified town planner bringing over 12 years’ experience in the North of England to a role to oversee business development.
Barney Munn, Barratt Developments
The Exeter office of Barratt Developments has promoted its first-ever marketing apprentice, Barney Munn, to the role of apprentice marketing executive, to take on more responsibilities. This is only months after starting at the company following his time at Exeter College. He is currently studying one day a week for an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Marketing.
Tim Mather, Knight Frank
Tim Mather has become an associate for Knight Frank for its Yorkshire residential development team, based in Leeds. He is a chartered surveyor who has worked as a residential specialist for 15 years. In his new role, he will cover the acquisition and disposal of residential development land, covering areas including York, Manchester and North Derbyshire.
Hollie Barton, Maybern
Hollie Barton has joined planning and development consultancy Maybern as a senior planning consultant. She brings with her extensive experience on a range of residential, retail and mixed-use projects. Among her clients to date are Peel, St Modwen, LaSalle Investment Management, NewRiver and Urban Splash.
Two appointments, CITB
Two women have been appointed by UK skills minister Anne Milton MP as trustees of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), both with a wealth of experience across the sector. Holly Price is training and development director at Keltbray Group, while Yvonne Kelly is the principal and CEO of Barking & Dagenham College.
Two appointments, Women in Property
Women in Property has announced Lindsay Ramsden as its new Yorkshire and North East chairman. She is a town planner with Avant Homes and has been a member of Women in Property for five years. Samantha McCabe, an architect and associate at Oberlanders Architects, is the new Central Scotland chairman.
Two appointments, Stewart Milne Group
There are two new non-executive directors on the Board of Stewart Milne Group. Martyn Everett has held executive and non-executive directorships in a number of sectors including housebuilding, engineering, retail and media. Clive Fenton was a board director at Barratt and been at the helm of McCarthy & Stone.
James Duffett, Lovell
Following the retirement of Kate Rees and after 14 years with Laing O’Rourke as a commercial leader at developments across a range of sectors, James Duffett has joined Lovell in Cardiff as managing director. “I am confident the region will benefit from his experience, commitment, loyalty and people-focused leadership style,” said Lovell managing director Steve Coleby.
