We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Sian Pitt, Redrow Homes
Sian Pitt has been appointed sales director at Redrow Lancashire, based in Chorley. She has over 20 years’ of industry experience at jobs including as head of sales at both Ask Developments and Hollinwood Homes, and at Linden Homes as regional sales director. “Redrow really is the elite of the industry,” she commented.
Two appointments, Wilton Developments
Property management firm Wilton Developments has announced Nick Child as development director and Richard Squire as development manager. Child has held director level roles in firms including Shepherd Developments and most recently Clugston Estates. Squire has had senior roles also with Clugston and Shepherds amongst other regional developers.
Richard Walsh, Surgo Construction
Surgo Construction has appointed Richard Walsh as senior estimator. He has worked for a regional construction company for many years. He said: “I have worked in a variety of tendering roles in civil engineering and building for regional and global contractors, so my experience aligns perfectly with my newly found role at Surgo.”
Lee Richards, FirstPort
Residential property manager FirstPort has appointed Lee Richards as director – build to rent. He joined the company in July 2018 as head of property standards. Prior to that, he was managing director of a national property lettings business, managing large portfolios for clients such as the Ministry of Defence and Serco.
Michael Hill, BexleyCo Homes
Residential developer BexleyCo Homes has a new chairman of the board. Michael Hill has had a long career in the property and development industry, beginning in 1981, when he held the role of housing development surveyor at the London Docklands Development Corporation. From 1983 he was at Countryside, retiring as business strategy director in 2017.
Two appointments, Avant Homes
Avant Homes has appointed Mark Wilson as land director and Wes English as senior land manager. Wilson joins the company with more than 20 years’ experience in the residential property sector in the North East and Yorkshire regions. English has joined the team with more than a decade of experience within the construction sector across the North East.
Rory Stephens, Cruden Homes
Cruden Homes has appointed Rory Stephens as senior land and development manager in the East of Scotland. He is a chartered surveyor bringing a wealth of experience from his previous roles in acquisition and development at the Chris Stewart Group and in corporate real estate at Lloyds Banking Group.
Matthew Biddle, McLaren
As McLaren launches a new business focusing on mixed-use, residential development and placemaking schemes, Matthew Biddle has joined as managing director of McLaren Living from Berkeley Group, where he worked for 18 years. He will work alongside former chief executive of Newham Council, Kim Bromley-Derry.
Three appointments, Mulbury
Mulbury has appointed Mike Nevitt as design director, Glyn Fazackerley as construction director and Neil Ashton as commercial director. Nevitt is new to the company, previously design director at contractor Bardsley Construction, while Fazackerley and Ashton were internal promotions. They will all be based at Mulbury’s headquarters in Lymm, Cheshire.
John Sutcliffe, Beal Homes
John Sutcliffe, who recently retired as chief executive of Henry Boot PLC has joined the Board of Beal Homes, who will benefit from his 30 years of Plc boardroom experience. Of his new role as a non-executive director, he said: “I want to use my experience to help the team at Beal to become an even better business and continue to grow and develop.”
