Lands Improvement has acquired the freehold interest in a 551-acre site at Dunton Hills, Essex, with plans for a new community including 3,700 new homes.
Located to the east of the village of West Horndon, in the Brentwood district of Essex, the ‘garden village’ site was acquired from Commercial Estates Group (CEG). The site has a resolution to grant planning permission from Brentwood Borough Council and has a GDV in excess of £480million. There’s also an option agreement for a further 6.47 acres.
Lands Improvement will assume a master developer role at the site, delivering infrastructure and selling serviced land to housebuilders and developers over a 12-year period.
Delivered in five phases, the neighbourhoods will offer a mix of housing types and tenures including private homes for sale, SH rental homes, affordable homes and care homes. Also proposed are a village centre, new schools, public realm spaces and re-wilding areas.
