Housing industry careers news: This week’s Movers & Shakers

We take our weekly look at appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.

Steven Graham, Breck Homes

Steven Graham, Breck Homes

Breck Homes has appointed Steven Graham as senior land manager, based at the company’s Leeds office.

He joins from Yorkstone Homes and brings extensive experience across land acquisition, planning and partnership housing delivery. He has previously held senior roles with Persimmon Homes, Keepmoat Group, Countryside and Rouse Homes.

Graham said: “The business has a strong management team and ambitious growth plans, so it’s an exciting time to be joining. I’m looking forward to playing my part in growing Breck’s Yorkshire presence and working with our partners to deliver much needed new homes across the county.”

Nigel Robson, regional managing director (Yorkshire) at Breck Homes, added: “Steven brings exactly the type of experience, partnership approach and personal skills we need to expand our pipeline and work closely with housing associations and local authorities to deliver much-needed homes. 

“Breck has ambitious plans in Yorkshire and Steven will play a key role in bringing sites forward that support our growth.”

Two appointments, Solfit

Lee Chadwick, Solfit

Solfit, UK-based residential solar integration and delivery business, has announced a new leadership structure as the business continues to expand its approach across the new build sector.

Lee Chadwick (pictured) has been appointed managing director, with founder Ewen Estill stepping into the role of chief executive officer.

The appointments come as Solfit launches a new strategic direction focused on delivering integrated solar systems and coordinated delivery frameworks designed to support the evolving compliance, performance and delivery requirements of the UK new build sector

Estill said: “Lee’s appointment strengthens the next phase of Solfit’s growth and allows us to continue evolving both the technical and commercial side of the business as the market develops.”

Chadwick added: “Solfit has developed a very strong technical and strategic position within the market, and what really stood out to me was the business’ understanding that the future of solar within new build is not simply about supplying panels, it’s about delivering a fully integrated system that works across the entire build journey.”

Three appointments, Allison Homes

Emma Weston, Alex Mayhew, Jason Oakley, Allison Homes

Allison Homes has announced three new group and regional appointments.

Emma Weston (picture left) is Allison Homes East Midlands’ first sales director. She has over 20 years of industry experience, with 11 years in estate agency before moving to a national housebuilder, progressing from sales manager up to sales director.

Alex Mayhew (pictured centre) has been promoted to the role of group finance director. Before joining Allison Homes, he spent eight years in finance at the fashion retailer Joules, transitioning into the housebuilding sector three years ago.

Jason Oakley (pictured right), an award-winning senior site manager from Northamptonshire, to lead the delivery of Allison Homes Central’s new development within Priors Hall Park, Corby. He brings over 20 years’ of experience to the role. He has won a total of 22 awards, including NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards and Seal of Excellence Awards, alongside both regional and national LABC Awards.

Chris Hill, Sphere

Chris Hill, Sphere

Sphere has announced the appointment of Chris Hill as its new project director.

Hill returns to Birmingham after having spent time overseas as regional property lead with project management and advisory specialists, TSA Riley, as well as representing global venue developer Oak View Group as part of numerous concurrent new build arena projects.

The appointment follows as Sphere’s major development, Edition Birmingham, undergoes construction and the company’s newest project approaches the planning stages.

Sphere CEO, Alex Neale, said: “A huge welcome to a wonderful talent, who joins us at a very exciting time for the business. With Edition coming out of the ground, our development proposals for Cherry Street coming down the line and other irons in the fire, Chris will be a huge asset to the team with his experience and specialist skills. We’re looking forward to getting stuck in with him on a number of opportunities and challenges ahead.”

Three appointments, Apo Group

Daniel Berlinski, Chris Conway, Faye Cottrell, Apo Group

Apo Group Ltd (Apo) has announced three senior executive promotions to newly created roles within its management team.

Daniel Berlinski (pictured right) has been promoted to director of operations, Chris Conway (pictured centre) to director of revenue and leasing, and Faye Cottrell (picture left) to head of HR.

Will Hyslop, Cushman & Wakefield

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Will Hyslop as a partner in the firm’s UK living team.

Hyslop has over 15 years of living sector experience, having previously worked at Montagu Evans as a partner for almost a decade, specialising in purpose-built student accommodation and Build to Rent.

James Dunne, head of UK living at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Will brings an outstanding track record in residential investment, with particular strength in the student accommodation sector. His depth of expertise will be a significant asset to our clients. His arrival further enhances the breadth of our team and supports our commitment to delivering market‑leading insight and advice as we continue to grow.”

Dyke McKenize, Kirkwood Timber Frame

Kirkwood Timber Frame has bolstered its team with the appointment of a new business development manager.

Dyke McKenize brings over 30 years of experience to the role, having worked in various positions within the sector across the UK, oss the UK – beginning his career in manufacturing before moving into sales & business development roles.

Through these positions with notable construction and timber companies, he has supported businesses working across the housing, healthcare and education sectors – including around the development of student accommodation.

Dyke said: “I’m excited to join Kirkwood Timber Frame and look forward to supporting the team by getting out there, building relationships and using my knowledge, experience and contacts to help the business grow.”
