Housing industry careers news: This week’s Movers & Shakers

We take our weekly look at appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.

Julia Harrington, Greencore Homes

Julia Harrington, Greencore Homes

Greencore Homes has appointed Julia Harrington as partnerships lead across the South East of England.

She brings over 25 years’ experience in housing and development to the role, having delivered a wide range of new schemes across multiple tenures, including Build to Rent, Shared Ownership, affordable housing and private sale. Before joining Greencore Homes, Harrington headed up the South East region at modular housing provider ilke Homes and recently worked at Cherwell District Council as head of regeneration and economic growth.

She has also held several senior strategic roles at Legal & General Affordable Homes, where she secured a development pipeline of more than 1,500 new homes, and at Sage Housing, where she project managed over 30 schemes on site.

Harrington commented: “Greencore is truly setting the benchmark for sustainable, healthier homes and I’m excited to bring my experience to support the next phase of growth for the business.”

Ciaran Aldridge, Keepmoat

Ciaran Aldridge, Keepmoat

Housebuilder Keepmoat has named a new regional managing director to head up its Yorkshire East region.

Ciaran Aldridge arrives with more than 18 years of experience in property, including former roles of national property director at Aldi and divisional managing director at McCarthy Stone. He has joined the team following the promotion of former regional managing director Dan Crew to divisional chair.

Aldridge said: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed by such a prominent, national homebuilder as it continues its exciting growth journey. I look forward to using my experience to enhance the fantastic results the region generates and provide the wider community with much-needed housing.”

Craig Flanders, Telford Living

Craig Flanders, Telford Living

Telford Living has appointed Craig Flanders as director of asset management.

Flanders, who has nearly 15 years of experience managing mixed-use and retail assets, previously held senior roles at Landsec and Network Rail and will now lead asset management with a specific focus on the Chrisp Street Market regeneration and provide strategic input across the company’s wider mixed-use schemes. A Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and graduate of the University of Reading (BSc Real Estate), he brings a strong track record of driving asset performance and tenant engagement.

Steve Woomble, Gleeson Homes

Steve Woomble, Gleeson Homes

Gleeson Homes has recently strengthened its Part Exchange offering by establishing a new role tasked with spearheading the initiative.

Steve Woomble joins the business in the newly created position of head of part exchange. He brings 30 years of experience across multiple senior roles in the industry, including 25 years at director level. He started his career at Lincolnshire-based Chartdale Homes in 1995 and remained there through its evolution with Stamford Homes, Galliford Try, Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Vistry.

Commenting on his appointment, Woomble said: “I am thrilled to join Gleeson and look forward to improving its customer proposition through Part Exchange. It’s a really exciting time to be joining Gleeson, with lots of plans for the future and I am grateful to the team for the warm welcome.”

Two appointments, Connect It Utility Services

Bekkie John, Anna Linsdell, Connect It Utility Services

Connect It Utility Services has reinforced its team with the recent appointments of Bekkie John as business development manager and Anna Linsdell as marketing manager.

John (pictured left) began her career in medical insurance, building a strong foundation in customer relations and account management before transitioning to the construction sector in 2022. Since then, she has pursued increasingly strategic and commercial roles within the industrial & commercial (I&C) and electric vehicle (EV) sectors.

Joining Connect it Utility Services following five years running her own freelance marketing company, Anna Linsdell (pictured right) brings a varied depth of knowledge and experience. She has provided hands-on support for a selection of brands across the hospitality, retail, ecommerce, renewables and construction sectors. Simultaneously, Anna also Chaired her local members club.

Amy Aldridge, Wain Estates

Wain Estates has appointed Amy Aldridge as senior planning and development manager, to be based at the firm’s headquarters in Warrington

Aldridge joins from a national land promoter, where she spent seven-and-a-half years after graduating with a degree in Geography. During this time, she also completed an MSc in Planning, further strengthening her technical expertise and passion for the planning process.

Commenting on her appointment, she said: “I’ve always enjoyed being involved in the entire planning side of the job. I’m excited to join Wain Estates and be part of the close knit team. It feels like a really exciting time to join as a planner. Planning in the last few years has been strained, but the relaxation of restrictions feels refreshing and opens up opportunities to progress sites where it was much more difficult before.”

Angela Heaney, Wain Estates MD, added: “Amy will be a huge asset to the business as we continue to expand our strategic land portfolio.”

Spencer Walters, Persimmon Homes

Zac Hurst, Spencer Walters, Persimmon Homes

Persimmon Homes South Midlands has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new technical director.

With four years at the company, Spencer Walters (pictured right) has been head of technical, working within the wider technical team. He brings over 12 years of industry experience including roles at Barratt Homes and Bellway Homes.

Commenting on his appointment, Walters said: “I’m delighted to have been promoted to technical director. This is an exciting new challenge, and I’m passionate about ensuring quality remains at the heart of everything we do. I look forward to supporting the region as we continue to deliver fantastic developments and create thriving, sustainable communities.”

Lesley Davison, Delancey

Lesley Davison, Delancey

Delancey, a leading UK-focussed property company and investment manager, has appointed Lesley Davison as managing director of Capital Markets, rejoining the business in March 2026, having previously spent 14 years as director of banking and treasury.

With over 25 year in real estate investment, Davison brings extensive experience across multiple geographies and sectors, including residential, office, retail, hotels, education, debt, distressed assets, and lifetime mortgage products.  

Since leaving Delancey, Davison served as chief investment officer at workspace investor-developer Seaforth Land before becoming chief operating officer at Telford Homes, where she led operations and strategy during a period of intensive restructuring.

She said: “I am thrilled to return to Delancey as managing director of Capital Markets and look forward to leveraging my learnings from the past six years to help build on new and exciting future mandates.

Adam Charlton, Compass Developments

Adam Charlton, Compass Developments

Cramlington-based principal building contractor Compass Developments has promoted Adam Charlton to assistant quantity surveyor.

The 23-year-old joined the company four years ago as a technical apprentice while studying quantity surveying at Northumbria University. After completing his degree, he has now moved into a full-time role within the commercial team, working alongside senior quantity surveyors Richard Harm and Mark Handyside.

Charlton said: “From day one, I settled into the team with ease and working on live projects without doubt helped me with my degree. I’m looking forward to progressing my career with Compass Developments, it’s an exciting time to join the company as it has ambitious plans for growth.”

Stephen O’Neill, director at Compass Developments, added: “Adam is a bright talent who, for the last four years, has become a key member of our team, demonstrating enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. Working closely with his colleagues, Richard and Mark, I have no doubt he will continue to develop in a supportive environment.”

Hannah Farmer, Lomond

Lomond has appointed Hannah Farmer as managing director of Lomond Investment Management, its specialist residential rental asset division.

She joins with extensive senior leadership experience across the property sector, including roles at CBRE Global Workplace Solutions. Farmer has also operated in global leadership positions, managing operational performance, governance and health and safety across large enterprise accounts.

In her new role, she will lead Lomond Investment Management as it continues to expand its residential portfolio across single-family housing, Build to Rent and other specialist assets. 

Farmer said: “I am thrilled to be joining Lomond at such a significant point in its journey. I look forward to working with the talented teams across the country to deliver outstanding results for our clients and to help shape the future of residential asset management.”

Sam Graham, Rapleys

Angus Irvine, Sam Graham, Rapleys

Rapleys has strengthened its Residential Division with the appointment of Sam Graham as partner, specialising in land acquisitions and disposals across the South East.

Graham (pictured right, with Angus Irvine) has over 25 years’ experience and joins from BNP Paribas Real Estate, where he was head of Southeast Land Agency. He previously worked as head of land at Redrow and head of development agency at Cluttons. He will work as a key member of Angus Irvine’s Rapleys Living and Development Agency team and will be based in the London office.

Graham said: “Rapleys has strong ambition and reputation within the residential and development consultancy sector together with a growth mandate built around focusing on its people and delivering for clients. I am hugely motivated to become a key part of the business’s growth story and in leveraging combined skills and networks as soon as possible to help unlock development across the South East and wider UK.”

Ian Hawksworth, Urban Land Institute

Ian Hawksworth, Urban Land Institute

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) has appointed Ian Hawksworth, CEO of Shaftesbury Capital PLC, as ULI UK Chair, to succeed Mark Collins, non-executive director at Kingdom International Real Estate and Echlin.

Commencing 1 March 2026, Hawksworth will serve on a voluntary basis until June 2027. He has been an active member of ULI for 24 years and is currently a member of the ULI European Retail and Entertainment Council. Previously, he was a ULI Global Governing Trustee, was part of the original formation of ULI Asia in the 1990s and served two terms on the Global Executive Board.

Hawksworth has over 38 years’ experience in global real estate investment, development, asset and corporate management, and extensive experience and knowledge of the London property market, having previously been chief executive of Capital & Counties Properties PLC (“Capco”) since Capco’s inception in 2010. He is chief executive of Shaftesbury Capital.
