We take our weekly look at appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Thomasin Renshaw, Greystar
Greystar has appointed Thomasin Renshaw as managing director – UK Development, to be responsible for leading the company’s UK development strategy across BTR and PBSA.
Renshaw joins from Pocket Living, where she served as chief development officer overseeing its entire pipeline of major London schemes. She had previously held roles at Grosvenor and Muse Developments established a strong track record in regeneration and public–private partnership.
She will be reporting to Daniel Breeden, senior managing director – UK, who said: “Thomasin’s experience in regeneration and partnership delivery will support our aim to bring more professionally managed rental homes to market and contribute meaningfully to the national effort to increase supply.”
Renshaw added: “Greystar has the platform, capital and operational expertise to bring forward new housing at pace. My focus is on strengthening our pipeline and working with landowners, local authorities and communities to deliver well-designed homes in places where demand is greatest.”
James Riddell, Quintain
Quintain has confirmed that James Riddell, currently executive chairman, with take over as CEO before the end of the 2025, as James Saunders steps down from the role after 18 years at Quintain, including six as CEO.
Riddell moves into the role after 10 years on the board and four as chairman. His career includes 16 years with Lone Star as senior managing director and co-head of Europe Real Estate, with experience in commercial real estate investments, acquisitions, and financing across Europe.
Riddell said: “It is a privilege to take on the role of CEO at Quintain, as the business enters its next phase of growth. Having worked with Quintain for many years, I have seen first-hand the strength of the business and its potential.”
Saunders said: “It has been an honour working with the exceptional team at Quintain over the last 18 years and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved at Wembley Park.”
Multiple appointments, Backhouse Housing
Backhouse Housing has announced a series of senior management appointments following the planned departure of CEO Ian Jones at the beginning of January 2026.
Jones joined the business in 2020 from Persimmon, where he served as divisional finance director for its Southern group, delivering developments across the Cotswolds, Wiltshire and the southwest.
Michelle Hyde (pictured) will take on the role of managing director. She has nearly 30 years of residential development experience and joined Backhouse in 2022 as development director.
Richard Castle, chief financial officer, has been appointed an executive. He is a chartered accountant with extensive experience across blue-chip companies and SMEs, Richard will continue to lead Backhouse’s financial strategy and operations.
Adam Marks, who joined the company two years ago, will be promoted to operations director. taking on leadership of the Land and Planning functions. Matthew Bishop will be promoted to construction director. He has more than 18 years’ experience in the south-west construction industry.
Sandy Livingstone, Onward Homes
Sandy Livingstone has been appointed chief executive on Onward Homes, succeeding Brownen Rapley, from 1 February 2026.
Livingstone has been at the organisation for eight years, joining as executive director of property from Savills in 2017. Earlier this year, he was promoted to executive director of growth with the remit of delivering the organisation’s plans to build 5,000 new homes by 2030.
Rapley oversaw the creation of Onward Homes in 2018 as the result of the merging of six housing associations.
Livingstone said: “I am privileged to step into the role of chief executive at Onward, building on the strong foundations that Bronwen has put in place over the last decade. I look forward to continuing to work with colleagues, partners and customers to enable us to deliver meaningful change and the vision set out in our corporate plan, The Onward Difference.”
Tim Johnston, chair of Onward, added: “I know that under Sandy’s leadership we will continue to make a positive difference in the communities that we serve.”
Hayley Mitchell, Miller Homes
Miller Homes Yorkshire has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Hayley Mitchell as sales manager.
With a property sector career starting in estate agency, she brings more than a decade of housebuilding expertise to the region, having had managerial roles at Barratt David Wilson and Persimmon Homes. Mitchell and will initially assume responsibility for developments across the region, including Doncaster, Collingham, Honley and Wombwell.
Debbie Whittingham, sales director for Miller Homes Yorkshire, commented: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Hayley to our team ahead of several new developments opening next year. We wish her every success in her career with us and 2026 is already shaping up to be a busy year for our team.”
Mitchell said: “I am very pleased to have joined the Miller Homes team and am very much looking forward to the new challenges this role will give me.”
Multiple appointments, Keepmoat
Keepmoat has appointed eight new site managers in the North West: Callum Belshaw, Steve Pellow and David Clifford in Leyland; Adam Labno in Widnes; Sadeem Khan in Manchester; Mike Hinchliffe in Runcorn; and Ellis Mellor and Ryan Cropley in Blackburn.
The expanded team will oversee day-to-day operations across developments in the region. Keepmoat will start seven new sites next year, with a further four moving through planning.

Two appointments, Hollis Morgan
Bristol based estate agency Hollis Morgan has made two senior appointments, with Pat Addison joining as director of land and development and Dan Harris being appointed director of new homes.
Addison has extensive experience from Connells Group, where he led the regional land department working across strategic land, affordable housing, BTR and site sales, working with many of the South West’s leading housebuilders and housing associations.
Harris joins from Knight Frank where he was a partner and department head, with wide-ranging experience across the South West.
Olly Hollis, director, auctioneer and valuer of Hollis Morgan, said: “We have been watching and waiting for the right people to join the existing directors and when the chance came to work alongside two high-calibre individuals at the top of their game, it was a very easy decision to make.
“We are thrilled to have Pat and Dan on board. They are both known as leaders in their fields and are incredibly well regarded across the South West.”
Mike Dougan, Housemark
Housing data intelligence specialist Housemark has appointed Mike Dougan as senior account manager for Scotland.
He joined the organisation on 1 December 2025 following more than two years as engagement manager Scotland at the Chartered Institute of Housing. He brings with him extensive experience of working with registered social landlords, local authorities, sector bodies and professional networks, most recently with CIH Scotland.
Dougan said: “As a long-serving member of the CIH Scotland team and a fellow Scot, I have been fortunate to work with some of the most dedicated professionals in the Scottish housing sector who are doing vital work in challenging times. I am proud to join Housemark.”
Rob Griffiths, chief executive of Housemark, said: “Mike brings trusted relationships, local sector knowledge and a clear commitment to our values that matter to our customers. He will help us strengthen our presence in Scotland and ensure more landlords can benefit from data, insight and the context that Housemark provides.”
Tom Wheldon, HBD
HBD, part of Henry Boot, has promoted Tom Wheldon to its strategic board, with responsibility for customer strategy.
His previous role at the company was director and head of region. He will continue to lead HBD’s Operations board. Wheldon joined HBD in 2016 and has led on the delivery of projects across Yorkshire and the North East, including Markham Vale, The Chocolate Works and Wakefield Hub. A long-time supporter of LandAid, he is also a member of the charity’s Yorkshire and Humber board and was recently appointed to the board of Humber Freeport.
