We take our weekly look at appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Multiple appointments, Anwyl Homes
Anwyl Homes has appointed Mark Calvert (pictured) as its new managing director for Cheshire and North Wales, based at the company’s head office in Ewloe, Flintshire. It also announced the promotions of Lucy Crawford to engineering manager, Tomos Hughes to site manager and Tom Mullins to strategic land manager.
With over 25 years’ experience in the housebuilding industry, Calvert graduated from Manchester University with a degree in civil and structural engineering. He began his career as an engineer with Fairclough Homes, later progressing to land manager before rising through the ranks at Taylor Wimpey from land director to managing director. Prior to joining Anwyl, he held a senior leadership position at Kellen Homes.
Calvert said: “I’ve always been passionate about creating communities – it’s what drew me to housebuilding from the outset. Anwyl Homes has an excellent reputation as a family-owned business and I’m proud to be joining a company committed to quality and long-term growth.”
Richard Morris, Redcliffe Homes
Redcliffe Homes has announced the appointment of Richard Morris as head of sales.
With 18 years’ experience in the new homes residential sector, and 12 years’ experience working in the South West, he brings a deep understanding of the region’s housing market and a proven track record in delivering strong sales performance.
Jon Burcombe, chief operating officer at Redcliffe Homes, commented: “Richard is a fantastic addition to our leadership team. His energy, expertise, and people-first approach align perfectly with our values at Redcliffe Homes. We are confident that under his leadership, our sales team will go from strength to strength as we continue to grow and deliver for our customers and communities.”

Joe Turner, Persimmon Homes
Joe Turner has been welcomes as the new managing director for Telford-based Persimmon Homes West Midlands, overseeing regional operations throughout Shropshire, South Staffordshire and the Black Country.
Turner began his career back in 2002 as a management trainee for Taylor Wimpey, progressing through the industry in various roles including development and pperational director positions for Countryside.
He returns to Persimmon Homes having last worked for the company in 2018 as head of technical in the company’s South Midlands office. He joins from Vistry where he held the position of managing director since 2021.
Commenting on his appointment, Turner said: “I’m incredibly people-orientated and my aim is to build a high performing team with a strong positive culture whilst delivering our financial metrics.”
Regional chairman Stephen Cleveley said: “Joe is known and well-respected throughout the industry and we are delighted he has returned to Persimmon to take over the helm at our West Midlands business.”
Scott Stothard, Gleeson Homes
Scott Stothard has been appointed divisional managing director for its Central division by Gleeson Homes, to oversee activities in South and West Yorkshire, Midlands, Cumbria and Greater Manchester and Merseyside.
With some three decades of experience in the UK housebuilding sector, Stothard began his career in 1995 as an apprentice bricklayer before taking roles in quantity surveying, site management, and contract and production management. Later, he was appointed as construction director at Taylor Wimpey for its East Midlands and Yorkshire regions.
Stothard then joined Vistry Group as regional managing director in 2017 and soon progressed into the role of divisional chair.
He commented on his appointment: “I’m thrilled to be joining the Gleeson team in the role of divisional managing director. I look forward to advancing our operational excellence and expanding our reach, while fostering a culture that champions innovation, career growth and sustainability to help Gleeson achieve its medium-term goals.”
Two appointments, Newland Homes
Newland Homes has made two strategic appointments: Matt Maddocks as head of customer care and Helen Portman as its first ever finance manager.
Maddocks joins the company from Vistry Group, where he was a site manager prior to taking on an area manager role.
He said: “I get a huge amount of satisfaction from interacting with homeowners. When customers reach out with a query or concern after moving in, there’s nothing better than listening, resolving the matter and ending the interaction with a handshake and a smile.”
Portman steps into the newly created role to report to finance director Zoe White. She brings a strong background in housebuilding, expertise in COINS having been at Pegasus Homes for nine years, and commercial insight from running her own successful retail business.
She said: “I’m looking forward to using my skills to help Newland Homes make the most of the systems and tools already in place across the company.”
Sarah Allsop, Allison Homes
Allison Homes East Midlands has appointed Sarah Allsop as its first head of planning.
She joins the Castle Donington-based with a wealth of experience. She is a chartered town planner who began her career in planning consultancy before moving into housebuilding, most recently at Redrow Homes East Midlands as head of land and planning.
Allsop said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Allison Homes East Midlands. Planning remains to be a challenge across the industry, and I hope that my experience will help overcome some of the difficulties we face on a daily basis.”
Karl Edwards, operations director at Allison Homes East Midlands, said: “I am delighted to welcome Sarah to our ever-growing East Midlands team. Sarah is joining us with invaluable skills that will help us to grow our business and strengthen our reputation, and we are looking forward to seeing what she achieves with us.”
Zara Oatey, Roca Group
Roca Group UK & Ireland has welcomed Zara Oatey as project specification manager – north.
She brings extensive experience from across the bathroom industry, having spent over three years as specification sales manager at VADO. Her career began in 2019 in a dynamic showroom environment, where she quickly discovered a passion for product-focused, solution-led design support.
Oatey commented: “Joining Roca Group felt like the perfect next step. I’ve always been drawn to the specification side of the industry – being hands-on with both products and projects. Roca’s reputation, along with the strength and prestige of the LAUFEN brand, really stood out to me.”

Cassandra Codling, NHBC
NHBC has promoted Cassandra Codling to the role of senior regional director, overseeing builder-client relations across the country, succeeding Paul Edwards, who has been promoted to operations director.
She joined NHBC in 2007 as a building inspector and progressed through various roles, including inspection manager and regional director for the South East.
Codling said: “I’m excited to have been appointed as senior regional director at NHBC and proud to help drive quality across the industry. With the government’s ambitious house building targets for this parliament, I believe we must focus on delivering quality homes and strong communities, not just houses. I plan to help support growth and encourage a more diverse mix of people to enter the industry.”
David Campbell, chief operating officer at NHBC, added: “I warmly congratulate Cassie on her well-deserved promotion. I feel sure she will prove a great success and build upon her many achievements with NHBC to date.”
Two appointments, Onward Homes
Sandy Livingstone (pictured) has been appointed to the brand new position of executive director of growth at Didsbury-based Onward Homes.
Livingstone had previously been the executive director of property at Onward Homes. His new post enables him to fully focus on paving the way for the association’s future, with a focus on its development and regeneration projects.
He said: “If my dreams came true, we’d build 6,000 houses over the next 10 years,” he said. “I could walk off in the distance at that point. The other thing for me is being innovative about how we do it.”
Andrew Adderley has been promoted from director of maintenance to executive director of assets, another newly created position.
Livingstone said of Adderley: “He transformed our maintenance service over the last two years. I don’t think we could have picked a better candidate.”
Sarah Thomas, Octopus Capital
Octopus Capital, part of Octopus Investments, has announced the appointment of Sarah Thomas as a non-executive director to NewArch Homes, its for-profit registered provider of social housing.
Thomas brings over 20 years of strategic and operational leadership experience across the housing and transport sectors. She is currently chief executive of Richmond Housing Partnership (RHP) and chair of social housing charity HACT and has previously held executive roles at Peabody, Catalyst Housing Limited, and the Housing Ombudsman, as well as senior positions at Eurostar.
Thomas commented: “I’ve long admired the mission and momentum behind NewArch and Octopus Capital’s Affordable Housing strategy. I’m excited to bring my experience to the table and help scale an offering that supports the future of affordable housing across the country.”
Elizabeth Austerberry, chair of NewArch Homes, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Sarah to the board. Her leadership experience across the housing sector, combined with a strong track record of transformation and delivery, will be invaluable.”
Mobeen Akram, OneDome
OneDome has appointed Mobeen Akram as head of new homes and partnerships to help drive growth in its housebuilder channel.
She joins from Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), where she was new homes director, and brings experience and sector relationships.
Akram said: “I’ve spent much of my career working with housebuilders, and I know first-hand the importance of a frictionless buying process. I’m excited to join a business that is transforming the homebuying journey and look forward to helping more housebuilders and buyers benefit from it.”
Babek Ismayil, founder and CEO of OneDome, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Mobeen to OneDome. Her track record in building strong relationships with housebuilders and delivering growth in the new homes market is second to none. Sharon Marsh, Livv Housing Group
Livv Housing Group has announced the appointment of Sharon Marsh as its new chief executive officer.
She brings valuable insight to the role, having held several senior leadership positions within Livv since 2012, most recently as executive director of customer insight.

Her grasp of both the operational and strategic challenges facing housing providers is exceptional. Liam Mullans, Hampshire Trust Bank
Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) has appointed Liam Mullans as lending director for London and the South in its development finance division.
He brings withhim extensive experience in structuring residential and commercial development funding, having held senior roles across both bank and non-bank lenders.
Commenting on his new role, Mullans said: “I am excited to be joining HTB’s development finance team. I will be focusing on residential and commercial development projects across London and the South, working closely with brokers and clients to help bring forward high-quality schemes.”
Neil Leitch, managing director of development finance at HTB, added: “Liam’s appointment comes at an important time. Liam brings market knowledge and structuring expertise that will add real value for our brokers and clients. His arrival supports our focus on long-term relationships and helping developers progress projects in what remains a challenging environment.”
Patrick Davenport-Jenkins, OakNorth
Patrick Davenport-Jenkins has joined Manchester-based lender OakNorth in the newly created role of director of real estate finance, responsible for originating and structuring real estate loans across development finance, residential and commercial investments, refurbishment finance, and bridge lending
Davenport-Jenkins spent two years at Hilco prior to this move will be based out of the firm’s 60-strong Manchester office. He has also held positions at Morgan Stanley and Arrow Capital.
