We take our weekly look at appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Andy Curran, Barratt Redrow
Barratt Redrow has appointed a new managing director for its West Scotland division.
Originally from East Renfrewshire, Andy Curran has a wealth of experience within the housebuilding industry, joining from Springfield Properties Central where he held the position of regional managing director. Prior to this, he was regional operations director after being promoted from commercial director, a position which he took up in 2011.
Curran said: “Joining the country’s number one housebuilder is a huge opportunity for me. Barratt Redrow has a great reputation in the industry, and I look forward to building on West Scotland’s strong performance and success. With a solid growth plan in place for the next few years, this is a really exciting time to join the team.”
Alison Condie, Barratt Redrow’s regional managing director for Scotland, said: “Andy brings an abundance of experience to the role and will be instrumental to West Scotland’s growth and success in the coming months.”
Glyn Mabey, Allison Homes
Allison Homes has announced Glyn Mabey as the new managing director for the South West region.
Formerly MD of Allison Homes East region, Mabey has 30 years’ experience in the property sector and has previously spent many years working in the West Country, having lived in Bristol following the gaining of a Housing degree from what is now the University of West of England. He has spent over 20 years at managing director level with PLC organisations such as Redrow, Persimmon and Countryside. He has also spent time as head of development for Sovereign Housing Association.
Mabey said: “I’m delighted to join up with the South West team and believe there is enormous potential for growth in the region. It’s great to be working with some familiar faces as well as meeting newer team members.”
Jon Cook, group managing director of Allison Homes, commented: “I’m delighted to be able to appoint someone of Glyn’s calibre to our South West region.”
Katy Moore, FEC
FEC has promoted Katy Moore to marketing manager as it expands its presence in Manchester.
She joined the company just under three years ago and has since taken on responsibility for all aspects of development marketing across FEC’s flagship projects in Manchester and London, as well as playing a key role in the company’s corporate communications activity.
Moore said: “It’s brilliant to be part of a team that’s driving these projects forward, and I’m excited to play a part in helping deliver much-needed new homes and create vibrant communities that are fit for the future.”
Andrew Bradley-Nixon, sales and marketing director at FEC, added: “Katy brings a fantastic mix of energy, strategic thinking and straight-talking common sense to everything she does, which are essential skills as we continue to grow. This promotion is so well deserved, and we’re excited to see her continue to flourish.”
Rebecca Darby, Lovell Homes
Lovell Homes has announced the appointment of Rebecca Darby as head of sales for its North East region.
She brings with her a wealth of experience from her previous role as a sales manager at another housebuilder. Having started her career as a sales executive, she is passionate about the industry and describes selling new-build homes as the “best job in the world”.
Darby expressed her enthusiasm for joining a dynamic and emerging developer in the area: “I’m excited to be a part of a new and up-and-coming developer in the region. I want to achieve success, provide good quality homes that make customers happy, and for the sales team to achieve their targets.”
Of her team, she added: “I am accommodating and very fair, and by being like that, you get the best out of people. I like seeing people do well, and I will always champion and support someone for achieving.”
Amy Parker, Persimmon Homes
Persimmon Severn Valley has announced the appointment of Amy Parker as its new finance director designate.
A chartered accountant with significant expertise in financial management within the construction industry, Parker joins from Taylor Wimpey South Wales, where she held the role of senior finance manager. She brings with her a wealth of experience from the housebuilding sector, having also worked at Persimmon Homes Suffolk as finance manager – her first senior finance appointment in 2018.
Commenting on her appointment, Parker said: “The housebuilding industry presents unique challenges and opportunities, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued success of the Severn Valley business.”
Regional finance director Rochelle Theaker added: “We’re delighted to welcome Amy to Persimmon Severn Valley. Her track record of delivering strong financial leadership and her deep understanding of the housebuilding sector make her an excellent addition to the business.”
David Jewell, Tulloch Homes
Tulloch Homes, part of the Springfield Group, has appointed David Jewell as its new land & planning director, following the retirement of land director, Scott Strachan.
Jewell first started with Springfield in 2014 and has over 25 years’ experience in the industry. Projects include milestone villages in Dundee and Perth, which he will continue to be responsible for in his new position, as well as meeting growing demand for housing across the Highlands.
Innes Smith, chief executive for the Springfield Group, commented: “David’s promotion will seamlessly enhance our land and planning offering within Tulloch, as well as continuing to lead on planning for Springfield’s villages in Dundee and Perth. He is ideally placed for this role and his expertise will be instrumental to our business strategy.”
Jewell added: “It is an especially exciting time for the Highlands.”
Alan Coleman, Secure Trust Bank
Secure Trust Bank Real Estate Finance has appointed Alan Coleman as relationship director.
Joining from another specialist bank, he brings over five years of experience working specifically in development finance, and almost a decade in property finance. His expertise spans multiple disciplines, with a strong background in residential and commercial real estate, credit analysis, origination, bridge financing, debt restructuring and distressed loan management.
Of his appointment, Coleman said: “I’m excited to be joining Secure Trust Bank at such a pivotal time for both the business and the housebuilding industry. While we’re committed to further establishing our presence in the world of development finance, it’s just as important that we look to support developers who continue to recover from the economic uncertainty experienced in recent years.”
David Warren, Avant Homes
Avant Homes East Midlands has strengthened its senior management team by promoting David Warren to the role of head of sales to support its continued expansion across the East Midlands.
Warren joined the company from Taylor Wimpey as regional sales manager two years ago. Prior to starting his career in housebuilding, he worked in the aviation industry.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: “One of my reasons for joining Avant Homes was the clear opportunity there is for people to benefit from ongoing personal development and career progression. Being promoted to head of sales within two years is testimony to that, and I have the privilege of leading a great cohort of talented sales professionals and working with the wider East Midlands team.”
Avant Homes East Midlands MD Ben Felton added: “David has made a big impact since joining Avant Homes, so this is a deserved promotion. It’s great to have him on the leadership team.”
Two appointments, GROHE UK
GROHE UK has announced the appointment of two new hires for its senior leadership positions: David Nicholls as the new leader, UK & Ireland, LIXIL Europe; and Kate Hirst as its new leader, commercial B2B UK, LIXIL Europe.
Commenting on his appointment, Nicholls said: “I am proud to be joining GROHE at an exciting time for the UK & Ireland business. Having worked in the commercial interiors and retail sectors for more than 30 years, I feel very lucky to work with a brand that so confidently leads when it comes to product innovation.”
Hirst joins from Lecico Bathrooms following many successful years in a senior, customer focused-leadership role where she was responsible for growing the business through developing segmented sales, marketing and product strategies.
Gael Magda, leader Western Europe, LIXIL Europe said: “David and Kate both have a proven track record of developing successful and collaborative customer-centric teams in previous businesses which is a core value at GROHE.”
Mona Shah, GreenSquareAccord
West Midlands housing provider GreeSquareAccord (GSA) has announced the appointment of Mona Shah as its chief financial officer (CFO) from 17 June 2025.
She brings with her more than two decades of experience of working in finance leadership roles within the sector, most recently as CFO for Grand Union Housing Group, having supported its merger with Longhurst Housing.
Shah said: “I am excited to be joining GSA as it enacts its ambitious yet agile strategy that is focused on the customer. To be successful in challenging times, organisations need to be innovative, and GSA continues to do this whilst acknowledging that difficult decisions need to be taken too.”
Commenting on the appointment, CEO Ruth Cooke said: “We are thrilled that Mona will be joining GSA to help us take forward our 2023-28 business strategy. As an organisation, we stand to benefit hugely from Mona’s wealth of experience within our sector including the challenges which arise when housing associations merge.”
Nick Taylor, Housebuilder Pro
Specialist software provider Housebuilder Pro has announced the appointment of Nick Taylor (pictured right) as managing director.
His promotion follows five years with the company, during which time he has played a central role in the growth and evolution of the platform. After joining the board at the end of 2024, he now takes full responsibility for the strategic direction of the business.
Taylor said: “It’s a huge honour to be appointed managing director of a company I’ve helped build. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far and excited about what’s next. I’ve been lucky to work with an outstanding team including forward-thinking developers who’ve helped shape the system.”
Commenting on the appointment, Simon Jeavons (pictured left), group managing director of Shoothill, said: “Nick has been instrumental in shaping Housebuilder Pro into what it is today, a system trusted by many regional and national housebuilders. Multiple appointments, Turley
Turley has announced a series of senior promotions across its teams strengthening its leadership in economics, design, sustainability & ESG, strategic communications and planning.
Antony Pollard (pictured left) has been promoted to senior director, alongside his current role as head of economics. Fiona Lomas-Holt (pictured second left) steps into the role of director, head of sustainability & ESG. Jeff Nottage has been appointed director and head of design. Emily Bell (pictured second right) is promoted to director for strategic communications. Nia Russell (pictured right) is promoted to director in the South West & Wales region.
The other latest promotions are: Elise Power, Karen Barnes and Joanna Meakin to associate director roles across planning and EIA; Mared Jones and Ryan Simpson to senior consultancy roles; Nick Edwards and Jordan Bishop to planner and Echo Wu to consultant for sustainability & ESG; and Daniel Orzel and Kalon Mitchell to new positions in the firm’s central services.
Darren Waitson, Association for Rental Living
A new member of the Board has been announced by the Association for Rental Living (ARL)
Darren Waitson, founder and chief executive of Nirvana Group, is appointed with a remit to represent the views of the Rental Living Sector supply chain.
Waitson holds over 15 years’ experience in the rental living sector, having founded Nirvana in 2009. He is well known across the sector having played an active role within the ARL Suppliers Committee and the London and South East Hub for a number of years, as well as sharing expert insights at flagship ARL events including Expo.
He commented: “I am absolutely delighted to join The ARL Board at such an important time for our sector. I look forward to uniting the supply network and engaging with both existing and new contacts, as we continue to strengthen and support a dynamic and inclusive rental living sector.”
