We take our weekly look at appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Peter Carpinelli, Bewley
Bewley has announced the promotion of Peter Carpinelli to the position of chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately.
In this role, Carpinelli will assume greater responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Bewley, an all-encompassing role which requires in-depth knowledge and experience gained over his many years at senior level. Company MD Andrew Brooks, who has a proven track record in land acquisition and planning, will now focus more intently on maximising the potential of the company’s extensive land bank.
Carpinelli commented: “I am delighted to take on this new role and grateful for the trust placed in me by the non-executives and the Board. Miranda Parry, Lovell
Lovell has appointed Miranda Parry as its new sales director for the region covering Yorkshire and the Humber.
With over 20 years of experience in the housing sector, she has held senior roles at Avant Homes and Persimmon, progressing from sales advisor to sales director.
Parry said: “I am thrilled to be joining Lovell at such an exciting time. Moving into a new region presents fresh challenges and opportunities, and I’m eager to bring my experience to the team to drive growth and continue Lovell’s mission of delivering high-quality homes.

Craig Probyn, Athena Surfaces
Athena Surfaces has announced the appointment of Craig Probyn as its new sales director.
With over 20 years of experience in the industry, he brings extensive knowledge and expertise, having collaborated with some of the largest and most renowned retail brands in the UK.
Probyn commented: “I am truly excited to join Athena as the new sales director. Andrew Harvey, Elivia Homes
Elivia Homes has appointed Andrew Harvey as associate land director for its Central region, supporting the land acquisition programme across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Berkshire.
He brings over three decades of expertise in land acquisition to his new position. Starting his career as a land buyer for Bryant Homes. he has extensive experience and a proven track record with several leading housebuilders, most recently spending five years as land director for Deanfield Homes, and before that working with other notable industry names including Spitfire Homes, Cala Homes and Banner Homes.
Speaking of his new role, Harvey said: “I am thrilled to join Elivia Homes and contribute to the exciting growth journey they have planned.”
This move follows the promotion of Steve Brownlie to land and development director within Elivia’s Eastern region.
Kirsty Darby, Kendrick Homes
Kendrick Homes has announced the appointment of Kirsty Darby as its head of sales.
She has over 20 years of experience in the sector and strong personal management and mentoring strengths.
Darby said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Kendrick Homes, one of the UK’s oldest housebuilders with a great reputation for delivering high-quality properties and communities.”
“The family-run feel of the business really attracted me to the role and the fact I can help shape the business in its sixth generation of ownership. We can make decisions quickly and our pipeline of new land has a lot of exciting new schemes in much sought-after areas.
“I’m also extremely passionate about ‘women in construction’ and want to use my senior leadership position to get more females interested in working in our sector and with our business.”
Laurence Holder, GRIGGS Homes
GRIGGS Homes has welcomed Laurence Holder to its team as business development director to help drive the company’s expansion across Surrey, London, and the Home Counties.
He brings with him over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, including 24 years at Octagon Developments, where he led its Bespoke division.
Holder remarked: “I’m excited to join the team and get started. GRIGGS has built a strong reputation for delivering outstanding homes, and their commitment to quality and craftsmanship is second to none in the marketplace. I look forward to working with the team to develop new opportunities, build strong client relationships, and drive the business forward as we continue to grow in key regions.”

William Charles-Davies, Persimmon Homes
William Charles-Davies has joined the land and planning team at Persimmon Homes West Wales.
He joins the business after studying BSc Rural Land Management at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester for three years. In the new role, he’ll be involved in the planning application process for new sites, consulting local authorities, statutory consultees, and members of the public.
Commenting on his appointment, Charles-Davies said: “I’m delighted to join Persimmon Homes and its West Wales business as a land graduate, and I have immediately been felt welcomed from the start.”
Regional MD Stuart Phillips commented: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Will to Persimmon, who has come in and hit the ground running. He’s very inquisitive and already feels part of the excellent Land & Planning team, where he is surrounded by very skilled people on a day-to-day basis, from whom he will learn a lot.”
Hannah Maurice, Amethyst Homes
Hannah Maurice has been welcomed by Amethyst Homes as a quantity surveyor, joining a team that has grown from three people to 28 over the past decade.
She has significant experience in the industry, beginning her career as a graduate with a national housebuilder where she worked for several years, before joining a regional developer in the Midlands. She has a Business and Applied Finance degree and HNC in Construction.
Maurice remarked: “I was interested in moving from a large PLC developer to a smaller regional housebuilder like Amethyst because I find the product and range of sites far more interesting. In addition, I feel that as part of a smaller team, you can offer a more personalised customer service to clients and homebuyers.
Richard Bass, managing director at Amethyst Homes, said: “It is great to have Hannah onboard, she is a welcome addition to our growing team.”
Nick Low, Wyatt Homes
Nick Low has been appointed be Wyatt Homes as an estimator.
He has extensive experience, having been in the housebuilding and construction industry for his entire career. He has worked in site management, contracts and development management, and 17 years in commercial management, before taking on this new challenge.
In his new role, Low will be working with various departments on their appraisal systems, reviewing existing processes, and developing a comprehensive database of costs to streamline operations.
Low said: “The quality and diversity of projects at Wyatt were what attracted me to the company. I’m excited to bring my knowledge and experience to the team and contribute to the impressive work being done here and the continued growth of the company.”
Andy Porter, United Trust Bank
United Trust Bank (UTB) has announced the appointment of Andy Porter as senior director in its business development team, predominantly be assisting housebuilders and developers operating across the South of England.
Porter is an experienced career banker having worked in real estate finance for around 25 years with lenders including RBS and Barclays. Most recently, he was business development director at Close Brothers.
Of his appointment, Porter said: “UTB has established an excellent reputation as an experienced and reliable relationship lender. I am excited to have joined the bank at this busy time as it continues to support SME housebuilders and targets further lending growth this year and in the future.”
Adam Bovingdon, head of property development for UTB, commented: “Andy has joined us at an excellent time as we’re seeing high levels of enquiries from housebuilders and developers looking to take advantage of increasing activity in the market as well as the government’s commitment to get Britain building.”
Three appointments, Apo Group
Apo Group has announced two promotions and a new hire to newly created roles within its management team.
Daniel Berlinski has been promoted to head of customer operations, and KayCee Azakli to head of compliance and building safety. Christopher Conway has joined the business as leasing & revenue manager.
The expansion of the management team follows Apo Group’s acquisition by Broadsword Investment Management and the appointment of Rachel Hanniquet-Brooking as managing director in August 2024.
Hanniquet-Brooking commented: “We are delighted to further strengthen our management team through internal promotions and a new appointment, adding to our deep expertise spanning investment advisory, finance, customer operations, and development advisory. Mel Slaney-Smith, Richborough
Richborough has appointed Mel Slaney-Smith (pictured right) as senior disposals manager, to support Jordan Gresham (pictured left) and Hannah Deverell with the disposal of land to residential and commercial development partners.
She previously worked for Spitfire Homes as senior land manager, focusing on immediate land acquisitions.
Slaney-Smith commented: “Richborough has a great reputation in the industry and l have always admired the company’s success story. Richborough has exciting growth plans and l am proud to now be a part of the journey where l can utilise my previous experience.”
Gresham added: “This year, we aim to dispose of over 20 sites for both residential and commercial development. We are thrilled to have Mel on board to support our efforts and ensure we deliver the best value for our landowner and development partners.”
