Cameron Homes has acquired a 4.22Ha site in the Worcestershire village of Crowle to deliver 62 new family homes.
The scheme will round off the existing built curtilage of the village, which contains a number of thatched cottages and listed buildings. The western boundary of the development will face Church Road and complete the street scene. A significant proportion of the site will be dedicated to public open space, with 40% of the homes allocated for affordable housing. Pre-construction work is underway on the site, which was granted detailed planning approval by Wychavon District Council in July 2025, with a start on-site anticipated for autumn 2026.
John Hickman, group land director for Tara Group and Cameron Homes, said: “Securing this site with a full planning ticket in place will give a real boost to our 2027 financial year. Crowle is an aspirational village we know well and have targeted for land opportunities for some time. It combines historic rural charm, outstanding schooling and amenities, with quick access to the M5 and city of Worcester.”
“We’re thankful to our project team, consultants and Lodders Solicitors for helping us to acquire this site within a matter of weeks.”
The exterior elevations of the 62 one to five-bedroom homes will be traditionally styled with red brick and render to complement the local vernacular. The open space surrounding the houses will be landscaped to provide a new focal village green amenity, with many of the new dwellings will face the adjoining playing fields.
The latest green energy features will be incorporated into this scheme, with a very high EPC rating targeted. Specification highlights will include air source heat pumps, Smart Hive thermostats, electric vehicle car chargers and solar PV panels.
The Staffordshire-based housebuilder acquired a site in Honeybourne, also within the Wychavon District, earlier this month, with the company previously constructing developments in the nearby villages of Long Marston, Lower Quinton, Luddington, Blockley and Tredington.
Cameron Homes is currently delivering over 200 homes across 11 live developments, and has a pipeline of future sites expected to deliver circa 1,000 new homes.
