Mick Hanson, construction director of Bargate, has become a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, enabling him to use the post nominal MCIOB.
With over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, Hanson (pictured left) has worked at Bargate for six years. While continuing to manage a large team, Mick has worked towards the MCIOB accreditation, via the professional review route. He has been a long-standing member of the Chartered Membership Programme, which led to presentations on 12 modules, including contractual obligations, people development, sustainability and environmental practices in construction, technical matters, and health, safety, welfare and wellbeing.
Hanson said: “I am grateful for the support from colleagues and my family while I studied to become a Chartered Member of the CIOB. Continuous professional development is a crucial strand of Bargate’s commitment to its people, so I’m proud to have six members of the team currently studying for prestigious qualifications, consisting of exams and professional reviews.”
Hanson has introduced several programmes and initiatives to Bargate, including creating an innovative platform for project delivery and monitoring with sales/build integration. He has also been a key driving force for Bargate’s involvement in the Women in Construction programme, which welcomes women onto placements in construction-based roles.
