Housing provider, Abri is set to deliver 37 affordable homes for the local community in Upton, following the exchange of contracts with Wyatt Homes.
The new homes, comprising one-bedroom apartments and maisonettes and two and three-bedroom houses, will be allocated through Dorset Council’s housing register. This will ensure the homes are offered to people with the greatest housing need and a strong local connection to the area. More than 6,000 households are currently on the waiting list for social housing in Dorset, highlighting the need for new affordable homes in this area and across the county.

All homes have been designed to achieve an EPC rating of B, and will be equipped with air source heat pumps and solar panels, making them cheaper to run and helping residents save on energy bills while reducing their environmental impact.
Delivered through a Section 106 agreement, the new homes will strengthen the supply of affordable housing in Poole. The homes are expected to be completed in 2027, at which point they will be acquired by Abri and offered for affordable rent and shared ownership, helping local people access high-quality homes within their community.
